I'm photographing a b&w, sepia photo shoot with a model that's going to have a 1930's-40's Latina 'look' to it. Where can I find material that shows me clothing styles, make-up, hairstyles, accessories of the era, and where can I get items I might need for cheap. It seems eBay has a lot of interesting stuff.

i then need to note the exposure for each image...because i need to to present it in class...now what is exposure in each image??

2) Then i need to shoot 36 images on Shutter Speed Control. 1/250, 1/125...etc. Probaly on things that have movemnt..Now where do i find the Shutter speed button on the camera??

I want to have an off-white, "peachy" white in my film BW pics. Instead of a blaring, harsh white.

This project is based on:
Process – a systematic series of actions directed to some end; a continuous action, taking place in a definite manner.
Semiotics – the study of signs and symbols as elements of communication. The signifier, or the object/image, leads to the signified, which is the associated meaning.

For this project, consider how you gather your source materials, whether they are actively sought out, deliberately chosen, found, or happen by chance. You may use ANY material (within reason), incorporation of other artistic mediums, documentation of an action, use of participants, etc. The process may also be a springboard for the imagery that you gather.
How would you tackle this project as a photography ma
Then, create a complete composition in Photoshop, using the idea of semiotics to communicate your interpretation of your theme. Consider the relationships that are created by the imagery used, the various types of interpretation, and how different viewers may read the image

I've really gotten into photography lately,I guess you could say I've become obsessed with it.

But I've come across a problem though. My apartment isn't really that bright, all my windows have trees in front of them, so it makes it hard to let natural light come in. And whenever I try using the flash, my pictures pretty much turn out horrible.

Any tips or pointers on taking better pictures in low light conditions?

Thanks in advance. :]

I have pictures both framed (with glass) or unframed that when photographed are light at the center and dark to the edges. I've tried this with and without flash (as not to have the flash bounce off the glass).

Hey, I'm looking to do some photography at little league games, when they start back up, and I am needing a good lens. I have a 70-300 lens. It isn't fast or sharp, but it will do. I also have a 50mm 1.8 lens and a manual focus 28mm. I have around $500 to spend, and I've been looking at a few lenses.
Sigma 17-70mm 2.8-4
Sigma 24-70mm 2.8
Sigma 30mm 1.4
Nikon 55-200mm VR
Sigma 105mm 2.8 macro
Any suggestions? Better choices? Thanks in advance.

i'm trying to take depth of field pictures where the foreground is clear and the background is blurry, but for some reason my camera, a canon a540, is making it difficult. my smallest aperture size, a F 2.6, digital focuses all pictures to be clear, no matter how close or far the objects are two one another, or the camera to the objects. Has anyone had similar problems and can offer any advice? ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My friend was asking about a camera today that he remember was made awhile back- and it was really just a crappy film camera, so at first people didn't really like to use it- but then they found out that the distortion was actually really cool looking! I know I've heard of this camera before, I just can't remember the name...

As someone who likes to go out snapping away with the camera I often get drawn into debates by enthusiasts about whether photography can really be classified as art. My feeling is it is more technical illustration than art. The types of photos I take, such as rugby, glamour and the odd wedding can hardly be called art. So what do you think? Is it an art or something else?
