I used to be a pro photographer, but that was back in the film days. But anyway...my friend's daughter is 15 and a very talented artist/photographer. Problem is, she uses a cheap digital camera suitable for snap-shots and not the "artistic" stuff she wants to do. (By "artistic," I mean she wants to have the ability to better manipulate focus, apeture, etc. So, what's a good, relatively inexpensive (roughly $400-500 rage) SLR digital camera for a 15-year-old with a lot of talent?? Any suggestions?? Thanks!

These DVDs would be the biographical type shown at wedding rehearsal dinners and graduation parties, which show the betrothed couple or graduate throughout the years leading up to the big event. Most names for these are cumbersome or unattractive, and my company is looking for something descriptive and succinct to call them.

I live in the Austin area and I know that I need a portfolio with like some 8x10's and Rembrandt's, but I don't know much other than that. I've got a couple of pictures already but I'm unsure of where to send them too. Preferably in town.

Since getting into medium format photography, I've thought about shooting slides, something I've never done before. I know there is ZERO latitude, so I'm wondering, what, if any, advantage there is to shooting slide over print film?

Also, I've been shooting expired film with the understanding that, for every year the film is out of date, I lose 1/3 of a stop (and adjust accordingly). The results have been perfectly acceptable. But can I do this with slide film? Or is it just too risky?

Thanks a lot for your help!

$40 looks to be about the best offer going. I'm just curious to see what's on this old real so I'm not sure if I want to spend $40 to satisfy the curiosity. Anyhow - anyone know of anything even less costly for just a single real of old 8mm film transfer?

Today its cloudy in seattle and i went to snoqualmie to take some pics of waterfalls.
I set the shutter speed to 1/5s and try to take pic. the pic is too bright that i hardly see and thing. then i changed the setting to 1/10s. still the pic is over exposed. and thing lower that this would n't give the smooth waterfall effect that i'm looking for.
I'm new to this kind of photography and would like to know how to take such pics without over exposing my pic
