Perhaps you want to take a picture of a really cute child when she is smiling or perhaps you want to take a thought-provoking picture of a squabbling couple. Either way, asking for their permission would ruin the moment. Should these types of photos just never be taken?

Hi. I would like to take one head and soft box or umbrella on location somewhere, let's say the park, to shoot portraits. What's the best way to do this, or is it possible to do this without an outlet? Are there portable battery packs for power packs and strobes? Any info you can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,
I just recently got into photography, and I also haven't travelled much. This summer I'm going to Ireland(first time overseas!) and I wanted to know what your experiences have been when you've travelled with equipment. Basically, is there anything you'd advise, or any big things to avoid doing? Bare in mind that I've only been on a plane once, and I was 4 or 5, so I am completely clueless as to how the hole thing works.

Also, does anyone have suggestions about how much film to take? I'll be over there for 3 weeks. And any suggestions about whether to bring color or black and white? Any lenses I should try to bring? Seriously, any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking about pursuing a career in a passion of mine, photography, and i'm going to take a profetional learning course on it soon. But is it a good steady secure job these days? I realise that about 65% of photographers are self employed and thats just fine, but anyone got any tips for 20yr old lad just starting out?

Also can you still buy NON DIGITAL slr cameras with a good multi purpose lens? If so how much are they? I live B.C Canada, anyone got a price range for there?

Cheers and look forward to the replys! Lol!

Question to photographers: Is there a way to have a headshot but you get to see a reflection of your pose first, like how you can in a 'photo booth'?

I am trying to upload pictures of my new daughter unto my fotki page, but I guess the MB size is too much and my fotki page will only allow 50MB total on my account. There are a lot more pictures that I want to put up, but I don't know how to change the MB sizing. I just upload pictures from my camera straight to the computer. I have a Sony DSC-S500 camera. Can anyone help me... thanks.

In black and white photos sometimes you can get certain subjects to be in color ie: eyes, a flower, lips etc.. How do you do this? Is there a program I need? Or is there a simple way of doing it that I'm unaware of?

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a gallery of a photographer's project where she/he (I'm almost certain the photographer was a woman) documented two young Appalachian cousins, both girls, for a couple of years...?
They're fairly recent photographs, one cousin was chunky while the other was skinny...

Anyone know what I'm talking about?
I need it for an assignment.

I'm taking a week long trip over to San Fran in late March, and I was wondering if anyone who has been there or lives there has any suggestions? Alcatraz looks like it could be photogenic. What about the San Francisco Botanical Gardens? Has anyone been to them? I had planned to go to the SF zoo too; has anyone been there? If so, what did you think? Any favorite exhibits? Thanks.
