In black and white photos sometimes you can get certain subjects to be in color ie: eyes, a flower, lips etc.. How do you do this? Is there a program I need? Or is there a simple way of doing it that I'm unaware of?

You can do it in Photoshop, but there are probably a lot of graphic programs out there that will do such a thing.

If you need a free program, go to pcworld and search under downloads.

I think you can get a trial version of Photoshop at Adobe.com.

The best way is using Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. These are software that you can purchase that allows you to select a particular area and color it as you want. The full version of Photoshop is very expensive ($350) but there is a easier to use version called Photoshop Elements that will do what you want. Paintshop Pro is about $60 and is easier to use.

If you have Photoshop or some other editing program, the process is easy. Take a color photograph on a digital camera, or scan a picture, take it into photoshop. Save one version as B&W and one as color, let's say RGB color. Once the color information is deleted from the B&W version, re-save it as RGB color. It will still look like B&W. Cut and paste to your heart's content from one to the other.

You would need an editing program like HP PhotoPrinting or PrintSHopPro or PhotoShoppe etc. - they have special effects that let you adjust color and saturation or drop in color with an eyedropper tool, etc. Make sure you get a manual or a CD with a tutorial - explained, it isn't too difficult - just sounds daunting until you have played with it a bit. Good luck and have fun!

You need a photo editing program to do this. I use Photoshop. Go to Image>Adjustments>Desaturate then use the history brush to return the color to any part of the picture you like......
