Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you take a picture of someone with blue eyes, their eyes usually turn out red in the picture? Why is it mostly people with blue eyes this happens to?

I know it's called red eye and there are ways to fix it. I was just wondering why this happens. Is there a reflection or something with the flash?

Does it pay the bills, pass time, or just bring in some extra money?

I want to get some really good professional shots done (not soft focus cheesy ones) - I want a professional photographer and studio that is really good. I don't want some grubby backstreet place with a dodgy company or anything cheap.

i have seen pictures..(alot of them wedding pictures or lil kid pictures..) that are made into black and white pictures and one item in the picture is made colored. (alot of times its a red rose or something like that) I do not have photo shop is there any other way to make these kind of pictures? and what are they called?

I need some input on studio lighting kits, I have a strong lean toward Alien Bees right now, the B400's to be exact. My question is, when you need to calibrate/meter the lighting how can you do that with the Alien Bees set up? (I have a Nikon D70s).

My father is building a darkroom in our basement because of a new interest in photography. I have loved the art since I was about 10, so I want to take advantage of this opportunity. I really don't like point-and-shoot cameras, because they ruin the entire appeal of the art, which, for me, is the versatility of the camera.

I have used SLR cameras before and developed their film in several classes, so I don't believe I need a "beginner's" body. I want to avoid things like autofocus. I can go with or without flash, but what I'm primarily looking for is a quality, metal body.

Any suggestions?

I am just getting into photographing people in a studio. What would a beginer light set run and what kind would you recomennd. Right now I do not have any lights at all besides the 430ex on my Canon Xti. I would like a basic/starter set of two lights and everything to use them for roughly 400-500. I dont need anything fancy but need it to work. Is this to cheap? Let me know what you think. Thanks!!
