Starter studio lights for beginer portrait photographer?

I am just getting into photographing people in a studio. What would a beginer light set run and what kind would you recomennd. Right now I do not have any lights at all besides the 430ex on my Canon Xti. I would like a basic/starter set of two lights and everything to use them for roughly 400-500. I dont need anything fancy but need it to work. Is this to cheap? Let me know what you think. Thanks!!

I found this great website for someone who wants to do it yourself and make your own studio at home. I have used some of the ideas and it worked great. Good luck with your photography!
