I make stained glass and have just bought a glass engraving tool to enhance some of my glasswork. I am looking for a good book to introduce me to the craft and it must definately have good patterns in it - i.e. nothing too complicated, just some good, easy, fairly contemporary patterns (flowers, animals, birds etc.) Can you help?

I really dont see why people should be a artist doing drawings or painting, you make little money and you waste you life trying to be rich and when you die your work will be worth millions of dollars but you would not enjoy that money ,

So do you think its better to do other things like be a song artist , gaming artist and stuff like that ?

because artist in the gaming industry are making a load of money

and in the music industry people are millionairs

also in the movie industry as well.

so whats the point

My friend told me that in the art world people only accect paintings and nothing esle, which i think is sad and stupid because that would be a problem for me.

All my life i developed my art style around drawing with pencil , color pencil and oil pastils. you see my artistic style is all about details and drawing with pencil is the best type of art style to use when you want to make complex details to make your objects in your drawing look better, but in painting i can't realy do that because painting is to messy and slopy. so is what my friend saying is true?

also can any body tell me step by step on how to make a portfolio for going to college or to get a scholarship, and is it possible to become a rich artist? what does it take to become a rish artist?

When my son was still in school, they laminated several pictures that he drew for display in the school. Some of them did not turn out very well. There are creases and bubbles under the plastic and they look terrible. I would like to have them framed if possible. He is a very talented artist and the pictures are one of a kind.

Thinking brass would look good with black granite...but I'm not sure. I was wondering if gold or silver looks better? Is there any suggestion, please? Blue, green, red...colour like that would be nice too but I don't know which one to choose.

Thanks in advance!

I noticed that they use tracing paper, but I'm not too sure why. It looks like they do sketches, but why wouldn't use just do that on regular paper? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am just curious.

I can not get the "dots" to be large enough to show up on the screens. The filter>pixilate>color halftone option is not what I'm looking for because the dots will not be small enough to blend the colors smoothly. Anyone with Illustrator CS or Corel 11 or Photoshop CS know how graphic designers make these screens for screen printers?

ok here it is! An artist designed a 16" by 20" poster for a music festival and had copies printed to sell during the event. The artist also printed a postcard-sized version similar to the poster.

Which of the following dimensions were used to produce the postcard-sized version of the poster?
