First off: 'Anime Style' is a little vague; every artist (manga, trdational, fine, digital, etc) has his or her own distinctive style that he or she excels at, and so with different artists, there will be a different style. Also, you have to factor in the time period that the piece in question was made. I noticed that the further one goes back in time, the thicker lines in manga were, as were the colors in anime lamer and not very vibrant.
Now, for me, I draw my own characters, which I consider to be a modern class. I've been drawing since the time I could hold a pencil, but only when I was thirteen did I realize how cool 'Anime Style' was. Plus ... I didn't know about anime until then. And six years later, before I know it, I'm preparing to become a Character Designer for a prominent game producing company ...
Anyhoo, I suggest finding an artist with whom you feel comfortable with his or her style(it might be best if you found one that matches your own style the best), and try to copy their work for your own *personal* use. I mean this very seriously: never take an artist's work for anything other than practice, and never claim it as your own. Not only is that illegal, but it also hurtful to the artist. After you have gotten comfortable with their style, try making it your own. I do not mean taking their exact work -- what I'm saying is simple: tweak some basic concepts and placing your personality and ideas into there instead.
Practice everyday.
Don't give up.
And have fun.

yeah, i think so. just b/c some people have natural talents so that w/ work they can be great at something doesn't mean that someone who originally is bad at that same thing can't work up to being good. i mean, if people could only use what skill they were born or what came easily to them then everyone could just sit back and say that they've done all they could do. so i say go for it. if you don't get it one way (like drawing a circle and then a line down the circle and blah) then just draw what you see and etc. just keep going and practicing and you'll do well in the end.

Start drawing every artist has their own style. If you just can't get started take a class or search for some drawing help on the net.

well there are a ton of books that you can buy from book stores. The best way is try to draw what is out there just dont claim it to be yours. Then as you get better try and create your own style and go from there. Good Luck and have fun.
