We both work for a magazine and I do some pages and she does some pages. I'm trying to increase my design skills.

I am the production person, it is part of my role to design pages like ad showcases, and some articles or departments. I do all the design of online content and articles. Most people in my position move on to be graphic designers later.

Maybe you could tell her that you want to work on your design skills, and ask her to give you (very brief so as not to overload her) notes on why she's changed what she's changed? Only, if you do this, you need to be openly prepared for constructive criticism - basically, you need to try not to feel like crap about it! I know it's hard, but it's the best way to learn.

If you don't feel up to asking her outright, try making copies of your version and hers, and comparing them for yourself to see what the design differences are and how they affect the page.

Do bear in mind that she probably has no intention of making you feel bad - she's just getting on with her job. What exactly is your role at the magazine? It might help people to answer your question better.

Best of luck!
