I really dont see why people should be a artist doing drawings or painting, you make little money and you waste you life trying to be rich and when you die your work will be worth millions of dollars but you would not enjoy that money ,

So do you think its better to do other things like be a song artist , gaming artist and stuff like that ?

because artist in the gaming industry are making a load of money

and in the music industry people are millionairs

also in the movie industry as well.

so whats the point

Musicians play a note, (unless it is recorded), those notes will fade with the wind. For most musicians it is a form of inner satisfaction that their creativity can be expressed and felt by others that listen to it.
How many of these musicians will last the test of time over centuries? NOT many. Remember, just because there was a Bach, Mozart, etc composing music there were people who played the music. There were thousands and thousands of other people playing music. They played and the people listened, once they finished playing. That was it. No more, no less, Done, over, finished.

Visual art as for painting, drawing, etc.. These forms of art have a tendency to last centuries if created with the right products. Even painters or copyists who were not great are collected if their art is worthy.

Painters for the most part don’t want a life of luxury. Those that do are not real artists in my mind. Those people create public outcries and fade from the art world in a very short time. Wealth comes to a great artist and is a byproduct of his/her talent. But you will find the true artist always watching the world from the outside. They are the people who usually sit and observe most of the time, and interact little of the time. The money is useful because they now can spend their time doing what they want to do, create what they want to create. No restrictions, or timelines.

I would like to say that I find Artists to be the laziest of people. NOT because we as artist LACK the ability to toil HARD hours, sometimes days on end with little sleep and a conviction to complete a task. Our convictions drive us hard because we want to triumph. But what we do is out of love, a love of art, and when you love something that much. It is never considered work.

As for GAMING? I don’t even consider those people artists. It’s a talent. Artists have something to share with the world. Those people do it for the thrill. And thrill seekers only look for ONE satisfaction, “themselves.”

That's just it, it's not about fame or money. It's about personal pursuits.

Look at it this way, everyone needs a way to express themselves. That's what an artist does. Puts his/ her thoughts out on paper, canvas, or whatever they choose to use. Sometimes it will get seen other times it won't. Some artists choose not to ever show a thing. It's for them and them alone.

Personally I have a need to create. Sure I wanted a career doing this and I came close but it had a cost to it that I didn't want to pay. It made me nuts working all the time (Gigs and a day job) and I could see myself sitting at a typewriter typing "All work and no play makes Steve a dull boy." To me that wasn't what it was about. So I took some time off. Recently I got back into it and if a gig comes along cool if not no big loss; I'm not looking. Now I do stuff I want to do. Mainly because I can and for no other reason. That's the beauty of it. Doing it because you can. I've got a job that pays the bills.

You brought up the music industry. The same rules apply. There are a crapload of musicians that will never get signed. They are very talented and again they're happy playing in bars and clubs on a local level. They still do it because they love it and have a need to do it. Some of they best music being played right now are from people you will never hear of and you will never hear it at all unless you're local.

If you base everything you do in life on how much money you can make from it you are going to miss out on some cool stuff in life. So the guys in the gaming industry make a load of cash. Are they doing the type of art they really want to do? I'm willing to bet no. Do they like what they do, probably; but at what cost on a creative level. "Here's the drafts for the character I need modeled." I'll bet most don't get that much input into they game design. ( I could be wrong but I doubt it. If everyone had input it would never get done!)

Besides there's a big difference in computer graghics and art. Sure, there's an art to it. But it's not to express a feeling or get a point across. (Unless you do art on a computer.) Look at Lord of the Rings, the graghics were incredible, totally beautiful, even during the battle scenes you could look at it and think about the amount of work it took to make it happen. sure there was creative problem solving going on and other forms of creativity and yes the people were there because they wanted to be. But it's not art just to do art.

Art can keep a troubled kid off the streets by giving them an outlet. Art can help you heal emotional wounds and just make you feel better about yourself. Art can make you think by forming an opinion of your own about what you see. Go into a supply store and there will be people there from all walks of life. Good art doesn't disriminate and can be loved (or hated!) by everyone.

Art allows me to just be me. When I do something I'm truley myself. Now it's the same as it was twenty years ago. Just doing it for fun and releasing something inside me. It's a great feeling to be able to do that agian. Art for the sake of art! I will do this till I die. Not because I keep trying for money and fame. But because I can, and to me that's enough reason to keep going!

I believe you meant to ask 'What is the point of an endeavor that isn't fiscally lucrative?"...

The simple answer is that "money isn't everything", or that some people get more rewards from an action than any monetary value can be placed upon it.

Or we could ask, "What is the point of anything?"

BUT... All that being said, I will inform you that there are MANY, very wealthy artists out there in the world. They just aren't written about in People or Us magazine, shown on MTV or seen at the local cineplex. They aren't a part of the pop culture zeitgeist machine that is periodicals, TV, movies or really even the Internet. So maybe Joe Average doesn't know their names, but that doesn't mean they aren't successful or rich.

definite, artwork is not only portray, and those artists that do paint many times draw to boot. in case you pass to an exhibition, there'll many times be drawings that an artist has performed to boot as the different artwork. if you're particularly sturdy at drawing and may want to make stronger a spread that works particularly nicely for you and is unique and eye-catching, you may do particularly nicely as an artist.

Art is expression of society. History is expressed through art, and art represents live and change. It is not a great living, but someone on ebay yesturday was selling one painting for 350.00... I thought the painting was not good myself, but effidently some thought it was great. Art is expressed in many different forms and has been used to depict important effents. The camels carved in Petra or the Sixteeth Chaple.

It is not about the money, It has never been about the money! It's about how you can create something out of nothing, how you can express you emotions and who you are, how you can communicate your passion nd your knowledge and understanding for the world. It has never been about the money! Drawing/painting is not something everyone can do,its what makes you different, it makes you who you are, it becomes part of you and you begin to love it. It is not about money, it's about doing something you love.

If money is more important to someone than self-expression, there is no point, for them.
