I am a beginner in the art world and found that I have a profound love for paintings, ewspecially oils. Just out of college and just landed my first "Real Job" I am finding that I don't have thousands to pay for artwork by established artist, but find joy in the beauty of the work I see on the streets and at art fairs. However I have a few questions for anyone that would have knowledge as to the following. When I speak to street artist, I am always asked to make an offer. How do I know what is fair? And how do I know if I am paying too much? Also do "Real Artist" need to be registered, and do their paintings need to be registered. Don't get me wrong, I love the peices I have, and feel they're worth every penny I have paid for them....I guess that by this comment alone I may have answered my own question, But I would still like input if anyone can share their expertise. Hi, does anyone know of a piece of art that shows the transparent , kind of "ghostly" images of children playing in an old schoolyard? It's title is something like "Schoolyard Memories"? It was for sell in the 1980s. I've looked everywhere for it but can't find it....help?

I cut myself at least once a week. it's not cos i wnat to or have to, it's cos thre's always something that makes me do it and i have to to get out how i feel and to express myself. it's my art, i have the scars and they are like a canvas to me, so beautiful and expressive.
Is this an art? I know i must stop cos it's getting to look quite bad but how can it be helped, i hate the thought of not being able to express myself on my body which is a canvas are art.
I shouldn't do it i know...but who would take a paintbrush from a painter, who would take a blade from an self harmer?
