I have been trying to find out what this type of art is called, I done it at school years ago, and would like to get a tattoo using the same technique.

Definately pointillism - technique of impressionist painting using tiny dots of pure colour which become blended in the viewer's eye. *Pointillist n. & adj. (French ; pointiller -mark with dots)

pointillism, or something like that. There is a huge painting done in that style at the Art Institute of Chicago. It's a painting of a group of people at a park.

I think it's pop art. It's a tecnique developed by Roy Liscenstein (if I spelt that right). He tried to enlarge comic pics in canvas size as a form of art.

Impressionism? Pictures by artists such as Monet and Manet. They were always landscape images created by painting dots the right colours.
