Its about children who don't grow up, and something with adults and food. I don't know the title but those are the things in the title. It has some music in it but i don't think it can be considered a musical and it features a small cast of mainly children. Please Help! What is the name of it????

Personally - I think it's a bad idea. If you're doing a production of Streetcar Named Desire - and Stella is Asian - it just doesn't work for me. I work both onstage and off - an spend LOTS of time getting just the right prop or just the right set piece so it looks believable for the period or the setting. Why in the world would you put a person on the stage who is going to make it more difficult for the audience to believe what's going on!?!?!?!? I understand that in some theatre companies - there needs to be more roles for minority actors. So PLEASE do plays that call for other races.

Color blind casting works for me sometimes. I loved the latest Rogers and Hammersteins Cinderella where the races were all mixed up - but that's a fairy tale - and requires me to extend my belief anyway.

I'm a very light complected white woman - but I swear - if these companies don't stop this oddball casting - I'm going to show up for "A Raisin in the Sun" auditions.

Your thoughts?

This was my introduction to Shakespeare when I was about eight years old. I remember it was an operatic portrayal and I think it was in Itallian. It may have been Verdi's opera. In any case it was shown on a PBS station around 1981. Can anyone tell me where to find this on video or DVD?

It is "Much Ado" - because it is so light-handed and has the greatest number of my favourite one-liners: ex:

What, art Thou still living?
Put me down an idiot.
Oh, no sir, you are much too dear for every day!
Sss ...Ssspiritus BBbbenedictus?
(etc!!)

Although I do love the beautiful line from "The Merchant of Venice" when the two lovers are on a mossy bank and he
says to her, "Look, Jessica, how the floor of heaven is patined with stars of bright gold!"

And you? Please say ... and anything else you would like to say on the topic.

Ta!

It was a kind of religious play based on the nature and origin of evil and violence. There is a scene at the end where the cast begats with a voice over reading from the bible. Okay...so. We had John Lennon's Imagine playing softly behind the voice over. Do you think this was a good song to play? Why or why not?

I'm auditioning for the Illinois All-State theater production of Parade this summer. I've been in a non-musical, one act version of the show before and I'd really like to play the part I had, Mary Phagan, again. I all-ready know what song I'm going to sing but I still can't find a monologue. Parade is a contemporary musical so the monologue can't be from a show that too old, also it absolutely must be dramatic. This is probably the most important audition I will ever have before I go to college PLEASE HELP!

I'm planning on auditioning for a local production of "Fiddler on the Roof, Jr." in a couple months. I'm 14 (but I will be 15 at the time of the audition), mezzo-soprano, and will most likely be auditioning for either Golde or Tzeitel (unless they decided to take it up to 18, in which I'll go for Tzeitel or Hodel). Does anyone have a good suggestion for a song to use for my audition? I'm needing a musical theatre song that isn't from the show.

Also, anyone who's been in the show before, what songs and scenes were you asked to use for cold reading?
