Im going with a group of friends who are a little out there. They perform in the burlesque but not tonight, its another group. I have never been, so what do I wear to such a night? My usual jeans and top dont seem appropriate?

Are you speaking of the Burlesque of the early 20th century or the later version of strippers? It all depends on whether you want to fit the scenario, make a statement, or just be there.....jeans and a top would work for the last.

Dita Von Teese is considered a modern burlesque queen. There are tons of pictures on her website that should give you some ideas. A lot can be done with hair and make-up in addition to clothes. Be creative. Also remember, burlesque is also about attitute. Feel free to be flirty and sexy and free and you're half way there. Have fun!
