It is "Much Ado" - because it is so light-handed and has the greatest number of my favourite one-liners: ex:

What, art Thou still living?
Put me down an idiot.
Oh, no sir, you are much too dear for every day!
Sss ...Ssspiritus BBbbenedictus?
(etc!!)

Although I do love the beautiful line from "The Merchant of Venice" when the two lovers are on a mossy bank and he
says to her, "Look, Jessica, how the floor of heaven is patined with stars of bright gold!"

And you? Please say ... and anything else you would like to say on the topic.

Ta!

Midsummer, Much Ado, Titus (so gory - so great!), Two Gentlemen of Verona, Macbeth (of course), Hamlet, As You Like It, Love's Labour's Lost, Richard III, King Lear, Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra, Othello...

Pretty much all of them, except for Romeo and Juliet. I hate that play. With a burning fiery passion. Otherwise, I love Shakespeare! :)

Twelfth Night, because that was the one I had to study for my GCE in English Literature at school and it was one of few exams I passed.

But I sometimes wonder if Shakespeare's plays were never published back in the 17th century, if somebody sent one into Lulu or a TV company or publishers today in 21st century, would any merit be detected in them? Certainly the humour in Shakespeare does not seem remotely funny today, compared with classic comedies of our present generation, like All Fools and Horses or Fawlty Towers?

I've not read a lot, but of what I've read, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is my favorite as well. It's wonderful.
And of course there's a reason 'Romeo and Juliet' is the most famous --- it's great!
