Often we expect that Kate, being so often called the shrew, is the real wench of the play; but is that so? Or would Bianca or the Widow be better classified as such?

There are rules & whatnot, so I would prefer answers from people who have worked in this field.
I want to do this job, and I want to do it well, but I don't have any experence.

There are rules !!! I would prefer only answers from people who have worked in the field. Don't tell me to "just talk dirty". It's not that simple.

I'm in need of some information on how to construct a demo tape of my voice to submit to talent agents. I'm not sure what or where to find the material to record. Can you just make up your own "commercials"? Is it acceptable to just read passages from a novel? I'm completely clueless about this. Please help! Thanks.

I'm appearing in a prodcution of Raisin in the Sun which is being Co-Sponsored by a local black church and a large national bank. The church is insisting that because we use their rehearsal space and performace space that all profanity (even mild things like hell and damn and GD be removed as well as the scene were Beneatha blasphemes that god doesn't exist and get's slapped by her mother and it's not the slap that bothers them. The N-word (which the actors were asked about and supported it's usage) they don't have a problem with. i'd really like to hear from Southern Baptisis and evangelicals to understand the thinking better.

Looking for a book or website with rhymes or sentences actors, singers use to help them warm up and pronunciate clearly, example we used in chior (mommmy made me mash my m&m's) thing like that.

Teddy's father's client comes in and Teddy says No to all the client's questions. The client threatens to sue. Then, Teddy's fiancee comes in and asks if Teddy's looking forward to their wedding and Teddy has to say No because he's promised Dad! Eventually, things get sorted out and the father gives him a cheque to go on a holiday. There's a secretary in the play too.

My theatre company has a successful children's program that now includes many young, teenage girls. Our regular company is looking for a play that would allow us to include some of these girls in our upcoming seaon. Someone recommended "The Children's Hour". Do you have any other suggestions?

I'm an 11 year old looking for auditions for a movie/play/commercial...really anything. I have tons of experience in community theatre, but I live nowhere near Hollywood or New York. I don't want to wait until I I have my own place in New York after college to start professional acting...Any takers, anyone??

Which playwright really changes your world dramatically? I love theatre, I work at a theatre and I act and direct as well. My personal faves are Bernard Shaw and William Shakespeare. I have sooo many other faves.

I work at a theatre and often we get to dress up at work for Halloween. We also have Halloween tours at our theatre. I have often been one of the ghosts. What are you dressing up as this year? I am thinking of being a ghost pirate.

I was recently offered by a friend to direct an acting group I have been a part of for 7 years. I'm very excited about it and can't wait to start. There are a few probelms though. Since this is the 50th Anniversary of this program, we want to stage a musical, but we don't know which one to do, and how to possibly do it with a bunch of 3rd - 9th graders. Putting on a show with kids that young with music, dances, and lines can get tense, and I speak from experience.
Another problem I have is controlling kids. I would like to think I'm a leader, even though I'm probably not. Sure I like kids, but I have a hard time keeping them under control, and getting them to obey orders and such. It's a major problem I would like to solve but I don't know how.
This is going to be alot of fun and a great challenge, so I'd like these problems solved before I start. Thank you!!
