The puppeteers do all the singing and talking - they're very talented, - I saw the west end version - highly recommended - laughed my head off!!

The puppeteers provide the voices. Imagine the amount of training they had to go through!

The same is true for Zazu and Timon in Broadway's Lion King.

The actors are all on stage in black and you can completely see them as they sing and dnace along with the puppets representing their characters. Not all of the charcaters are puppets also. Gary Coleman, Christmas Eve, and Brian are all played by actors and no puppets associated with their characters. Such a great show.

I saw the Broadway production and the voices were from the puppeteers.
