I'm going to be an extra in movie tomorrow and I have to be there for 13 hours, is there a possibility that I might never actually be on camera not even for a half a second?

Bring some magazines and/or a paperback book. You will do a lot of standing around and yes it is possible that you may never be on camera. No matter how many scenes are shot with you it is impossible to know how much will end up on the cutting room floor. Go, have fun, make some contacts and learn a lot!

Oh yes. You will be put in a room called "holding" for hours and hours and not know what is going on and then ordered to the set and treated like a prop which is exactly what you are. you can get to see how a movie set works which is instructive and you can get paid a little but you will not be discovered despite what some of those other extras tell you and you will not be an actor. every one in the biz says do not do extra work. if you want to be an actor make this your last extra job. oh yeah, the food stinks too.

You will not be on camera, you're an Extra. It's a very long and boring day. You will be exhausted after 13 hours, wear comfortable shoes, you may have to stand for hours, don't count on seats. Take a small stool to sit on, keep up with your personal items so nothing gets stolen, keep your stuff in a tote bag that you carry with you.

Hey there, I think I know you!!!!! I'm so excited for you even if it's a really long and boring day /night at least you'll see what shooting a movie is really like. Hey who knows, you may get discovered by someone from just being there. Have fun and drink some coffee if you get tired of just standing/sitting around. A lot of these answers are good ones. Anyway, GOOD LUCK-ahh sorry, "break a leg".!!!! Bye for now!!!

It's the most BORING thing you could possibly imagine. And, the worst part of it is that, while you're waiting around all day for your 10 minutes or so of actual time on the set with the cameras rolling, you have to hang out with a bunch of would-be actors, who'll drive you INSANE with stories of auditions they went on, or their crummy agents, or something equally mind-numbing.

Well according to my sis who is an actress, and who has had many many roles she loves it! And yes there is that chance that you may film a scene but they might cut it, or they may even have it on tv. Have fun and bring a book to read!

Long, boring, and you likely won't make it on film. Do not, though, list extra work on a resume, unless you put it in its own section.

Its boring and you already know that you probably won't be on screen at all and if you are no one will recognize you.
