Don't Be A Stranger

Though the light shines bright
You will not enter
Why do you stand afar off
In the darkness
Is there a pain that hinders
Or is rebellion your only freedom
Does chaos reign in the intricacies
And is order just a weak realm
Will the love you seek
Be found in the dark mist
For you were issued from light
But you resist to return
If eyes do not lie
Then view mine
And find some measure
Of truth, logic and love
A shadowy step
I offer you to climb
So that your brightness
Will be brighter than mine

eyes of pain

I saw her skinny legs from a mile away,
How she walked and ran straight my way.
As she approached, her hair a mess,
On her body a filthy dress.

She came my way a little at first,
Her eyes devoured my drink with pure thirst.
I offered her the rest, and to my dismay,
She bolted, and she ran away.

I thought I'd seen her once before,
Rooting in trash, outside my door.
Her eyes, that's what I saw...were mean,
As if no love, those eyes had ever seen.

Around the corner, I found her there,
That little girl with the matted hair.
A tear dropped down her filthy cheek,
As she gave me just a subtle little peek.

She turned and ran without a word,
Tripped and stumbled, her pain I heard.
I've never seen that little girl again,
The tiny little thing, one without sin.

I wrote this for Shadow and it still ranks as one of the most sad things I've ever written. It is still for Shadow, but I don't think she'll mind if I share it with you again.

Ode To Poe

Dark, decrepit, dreary damned night
Fills my bowels with stones of fright
My eyes shift from the left to the right
While shadows dance in the pale moonlight

No human should walk the earth at this hour
Per chance to meet some unearthly power
I watch, I listen, I dodge, I cower
While heart burns, stomach churns, and mouth tastes sour

The cold wind howls with evil glee
Anticipating my destiny
I know some spectre waits for me
To rend, to end mortality

I watch it standing up ahead
With fingers of bone and eyes of red
Beckoning me to join the dead
I change my path, with feet of lead

I begin to tremble and I can swear
If only in mind, there's something here
And I die in waiting, there's death in fear
Damned night be gone, glorious dawn appear

Who is Cymru’s enemy?
Not Germany, nor Spain,
Nor Russia, Serbia, Iraq -
They forged for her no chain,
Nor quenched her hearths,
Nor razed her homes,
Nor laid her altars low,
Nor sent her sons to tramp the hills amid the winter snow!

Who spiked the head of Cymru’s Prince
One drear December dawn?
While round it howled in fury
The devil's hungry spawn?
And mocked it with an ivy crown
On London’s Tower Gate
And butchered helpless Cymric babes,
The lust for blood to sate?

Who spread from Gwent to Ynys Môn,
The glare of midnight fires?
And scourged the land in rabid wrath
And tortured aged sires.
Who scourged our land throughout the years
Spread torture far and wide,
Till Cymru shrieked in woe and tears,
And hell seemed fair beside?

Who plied the Welsh-Not and the sword
The gibbet and the rack?
O God! that we should ever fail
To pay the bastards back!

Who ridiculed the noble Nine
Who fought to save our name
Amidst the shame of ’69,
And played its evil game?
Who shattered many a Cymric home
With dreaded midnight call,
And broke the loyal patriot hearts
Of those who’d give their all?

Who caused the Abergele Two
To fight at dawn of day,
And strike a blow for liberty
And all who died as they?
Who drowned Tryweryn’s ancient homes
With avaricious lust
Who smothered Cymru’s innocents
Of Aberfan with dust?

Not Germany, Afghanistan,
Russia, Iraq nor Spain
They did not strip this land of ours,
Or forge her shameful chain;
But England of the cunning words –
A crafty, treacherous foe –
'Twas England scourged our motherland,
'Twas England laid her low!

Rise up, Rise up Oh Cymric dead!
And rouse her living men;
The chance is come to us at last
To win our own again;
To sweep the English enemy
From mountain, vale, and bay,
And in your name, oh splendid dead!
Our sacred debt to pay

Falling, falling deep and under
Falling, falling into the thunder
Thinking my emotions will swallow me
If i don't let you know quickly
But then i know as soon as i let you in
I'll push you out again

I think of you every day, but you still seem so far away. With each and every breath I take, every moment I am awake, you're on my mind both night and day. I keep hoping things will come out right. The depth of my love you'll never know, for my true feelings I can no longer show. You loved me once, but I pushed you away. I treated you bad, I forced you to stray. I want you back, my heart aches deep, for many hours I sit and weep. The pain I caused you, you'll never forget, but I am trying hard to pay my debt. How can I ever make it up to you? My apologies are way past due. There's a look of sadness in your eyes. I caused a lot, but I told you no lies. Just remember the good times, forgive the bad. Please don't forget the happiness we've had.

As my voice
Travels down the hall
And my ears yearn
For your Returning call

As my eyes search
The empty space
Where once I kissed
A familiar face

I look down
At the empty chair
And remember the girl
With golden hair

Those sweet red lips
So full and sweet
A laugh like honey
Melted over a treat

Then the memory fades
And my tear hits the dust
Now the chair is empty
Because I didn’t trust

He runs the whole show
Next up it's Calleigh
Her figures always tally
You can't miss Eric
His style is smart and slick
Don't underestimate Alex
Broken pieces she can fix
And there's no foolin' Ryan

I am considering "My Love's Sonnett" as the title. All suggestions will be appreciated; and you can make a comment or suggestion about 'anything,' such as wording, rhyme, making sense, punctuation, etc. :) (This is actually a reworking of a poem I put here earlier, which you guys helped me to improve).

Here is the poem:

Her pleasing love moves me forever close:
This faithful love never departs my soul,
With our feeble union left to hope,
She graciously dwells in my cherished hold.

She is a tender breath of fresh soft air;
I breathe in her dear love, feeling passion;
She arouses me with wonder and care.
Wavering, I muse my true companion;

If she departs my soul I will not sleep,
Her lost presence is felt great in my heart;
Sad and restless my spirit will weep
Never satisfying the deep bare part.

Her tender love my quaking soul knows well;
To keep with her gladly is my clear call.

I wished to see her gone, gone is she now
Into her hell you stepped, by your own will
Oh, in vain my harp I have played for thou
Only in front of her shalt thou still kneel
My darkness doth thou leave aside for her
My hidden face, thou long not for it, no
You look at her common light, you are sir
Cold to me, back to my hell to go
Never have I your promise had, and yet
My lines I have wasted on you for days
My heaven I have gambled in my bet
My hell as well, for you, for this love's craze

Me, dark angel, never burnt by fire
You made me burn: you I so desire

Poverty's poet

My stare is without solace
passion and joy have wane

My eye's now fail to weep
deaf ear's hear my cries

insatiable famishment waits for me
my anger is without desire

upon what pillowy cloud shall I rest?
for the harbinger is near to me

bitter is the morsel of my imminent fate
will you embolden me to fight on?

where are the spoils of your riches?
alone with selfish excess shall you pass

my soul now shivers and trembles
for poverty has claimed it shield.

Anyone know any poems about Poland/poles??
or sites with poems??

Like the following one::

Polish pride is my mind; Polish blood is my kind
So step aside and let me through
Because it's all about the polish crew.
Polish love is all around
My fellow poles never let me down.
So show your pride and say it's true
Polish blood flows through you.
United we stand; Divided we fall
You can shoot one polak
But you can`t shoot us all.
We are polish and we're full of class
F*** with us; We'll kick your ***.

plz???

So out of curiousity, won't you share your age!

PS You all wouldn't believe me if I told you how old I am so no asking. ;)

And what shall their tired eyes see?
A scattered slovenly dream'
A shattered heavenly scheme:
And what shall their broken hearts feel?
Crush of an embracing gloom;
Press of an advancing doom'
And what shall their spent lives glean?
Whirlwinds of badness and madness'
Whirlpools of Death's final sadness;----------poem by SRI SRI, THE GREATEST POET OF TELUGU LANGUAGE. (POEM'S TITLE " THE DEFEATED". translated by srisri into english.

its not great but i had to mkae it because i love them.....

We feel your fear
The worries are uncontrolable
The tears unstoppable
And the passion unmeasurable

To explain something you are taught
Way before you can walk
A baby in his crib
With his future marked
Its the only easy way out of misery
Thats it your already in!
To think that just years later
You and your brothers would unite us all
To imagine that just passing a ball
Would have your whole country
With sweaty palms

Its more then a match
Then futbol,so much more
We speak and live each day
With happiness and pride
Today we all say
Wether you fall hard or show that your strong
Brazil will always and forever be the heart of futbol

"Viva Brasil!!!!"

a mere embrace i beg,
or maybe on my cheek, a simple peck,
dont leave me like you once did,
my tears flowed but i always hid.

and so now, my past i remember,
it was back then probably you dont even remember,
well, i tried and even prayed,
but to me, attention you never paid.

i took a pen, i signed a vow......

2007-06-29 15:42:30 · 10 answers · asked by maddocckss 2

It's my first positive one because its the first positive mood I've had in a long time. I write to express my moods and make sense of them.

Peace

Is there such a thing?
Life is full of pain.
This we all know.
We live it.
Peace exists, it really does.
You just have to start looking.

Do you feel it or see it?
Yes if you are really looking.
The gust of wind brushing your face,
Do you feel it?
The sun going down as night comes,
Can you see it?

If not, then there is always tomorrow.
You will have your chance.
Peace surrounds us,
Only if you embrace it.
Enjoy it, breathe it in and hold on tight.
It might just embrace you too.

Their thunder broke my sky
Their lightning tore it apart
I walk where the sky fell nearby
To fix it where should I start?

Around me, people write their songs
Some deal with roses' thorns
Some others try to sing
To forget what the future may bring

The soft, silky broken sky
How could I throw it up high?
How could I mend it
Putting it back together again, up there to fit?
