I looked for a similar question but couldn't find anything.

I was wondering if there is any commentary on the Schrodinger theoretical construct that deals with whether the determinacy is affected by one person opening the box as opposed to another person? Would our personal reality have any theoretical influence on the cat's state of being?.

I realize that this is all just food for thought, but I found it an interesting theory.

I don't think about suicide but I find that thinking about death is soothing. I almost want to die. I'm tired of being here and want to move on.

Is that normal??

Is a dream an event? When we speak about a witness account of an event, we presume the event is one thing at the witnessing another. But the witnessing of a dream IS the dream. This occured to me way back when I was watching the OJ Simpson trial and one of his dreams was being discussed. Can something be said to have happened if there was only one witness to it and no possible verification outside that?

If you tell your staff to follow such a standard, aren't you also saying "perception is everything". So the "office psychopath"-in-training will simply give the perception that everything works. Too bad if your organisation is trusted to produce safety-critical systems.

(cso = programmer)

Ideally there would have been people at CSO grade 5 level who could be invited back to our test site to witness important demonstrations.

But such people didn't seem to exist.

I'm wondering because my journey through life has been significantly different from my peoples'. Not that different-- not as different, say, as a blind person or someone who was in a cult or for ten years-- but in less spectacular ways. For instance, I've only been two concerts in my life, never went to parties till I was in my late twenties, was extremely withdrawn and introverted in school, never been to a wedding as an adult, never been camping. I feel a strong sense of separation from the portrayal of life I see in movies, TV programmes, magazines and advertisements. Not the best ones...I think the best works of art have a universal resonance that goes beyond circumstance. But other ones. The thing is, when I look at other people, very few of them seem to fit the profile of the ordinary person you see in sit-coms and movies and books, or hear about in songs, or read about in magazine columns. I'm wondering if other people feel that the culture industries caricature real life.

i watched this movie based off a book titled "The Secret." the movie talks about the secret which is the law of attraction, which states that every individual is a magnet. and when an individual thinks positively he or she will attract positive things in his or her life. you have to be thankful for what you have and visualize the things that you want in life, rather than thinking about the things you don't want, and you'll achieve anything that you really want in life. but the question is ... does this way of thinking really work?

Romance, children's movies and zen all convey the idea that simplicity is so much better than complicated, even if, on the surface, many would disagree. I agree, but why is this concept so very appealing?

It's all what we see it to be. If we want to cry, we shall cry. If we want to laugh, we shall laugh. If we think God exists, he does. And vice versa.
We can make anything happen, but we all have to think the same thing to acheive it. Therefore, any goal that is not personal cannot be acheived without people who think alike. You make yourself sad. You make yourself happy. It's all how we see it to be.

Make any sense?

Think about it.

There's a belief that everyone in the world is connected or related to one another within six degrees. Have you ever met a complete stranger and - in the course of conversation or over time - come to find out that he or she is related to you or connected through a mutual friend, but you never knew it until then?

People always quote the Bible or this or that, but rarely does it have any true meaning to them. They are only saying what they were taught, but I want know what you believe in your secret heart. If you have quotes or other statements give them to back you up. I just want an honest answer and nobody ridiculing another as they do in R&S. Also how does that affect your thought on the world and what will happen in the future. Do you believe we are the only sentient beings of life?
And I think all of you beforehand for humoring me and helping me find like minded, rational people to have an intelligent discussion with.

I've been reading up on the Critique of pure reason and regarding space and time the reference I'm using makes a lot out of them being objectively valid, subjectively conditioned but not transcendentally valid. What the hell is the difference between transcendentally valid and objectively valid? If there is one surely its quite miniscule??
