Not taking any risk appears to have become the riskiest proposition. Shouldn't science and technology deliver us the capability to reduce risks with every progress we make?

Is it the same as one would infer by watching the news, eg 10:90? better? worse? Is it similiar to the ratio of people in prison? If so, How do people like Hitler, Cheney, Lay factor into the ratio? How much good is needed to offset evil?--can one person be as absolutely good as another is absolutely evil, or is evil more powerful?

In the "Darwin vs. Design" debate, I am often confronted by the claim that science cannot explain biogenesis, or the creation of the universe for that matter. But doesn't the design hypothesis face the exact same problem? What created the designer? Plausible answers seem to fall into circularity or an ad infinitum. Some posit that a designer is eternal, but with no evidence for such, the same concession must be afforded to a materialistic account as well: note that I am referring to intelligent design (ID) which claims to be scientific, so any burden of proof or lack thereof should be shared equally between a materialistic and ID account. I think both lines run into the same problem, that of initial creation, but I would like to hear possible answers. Please do not give "deep" answers, but rather clear ones which I can understand. Thanks!

Aliens, there are a lot of them and they are meanies. As peace loving humans, we must take up arms, and by arms I mean guns. United we will form a giant can opener and we will open a giant can of what?

is it because of the punishment we received from our parents when we were young, or is there any other reason?

So basically, I'm 15 years old (meaning yes, I still have a year or two before I really need to even START to worry/think about this) and I have no idea what I want to do in my life at all. It seems like I completely fail at everything I love to do in one way or another. I don't want to get stuck doing some stupid meaningless job that I hate. All I know is that I want to make a difference one way or another and being a clerk at some store isn't going to get me that. I know that we all make a difference somehow but I want to make a difference doing something I love to do.

I love to write, happen to suck at that.

I love to dance, (the only thing I'm good at or used to be good at) I've had a problem with my weight for a while and frankly, I don't see how that would work out.
Okay so I'm running out of characters but basically. I suck at everything I love or there's something holding me back that is almost impossible to overcome. What do I do? I can't live my life doing something I hate

Picture it...your first true love....your husband or wife even, being beaten...by an invisable invincable force, swollen and bleeding hey fall to their knees and cough bleed to the ground and fade away still being beaten, taunted, and tortured, crying out for help as tears drop into pools of blood...Where am I during all this? Bound....to cruel society... Once you can fully picture the impact of this you will see whatthe world is to me, a helpless loved one that needs to be saved quickly, before it dies away and all life of the one you would die for fades, we need to save this world we reside in, if we dont we will just all be beaten constantly by brutal parents and deformed humans being aborted left and right from family rape...why must I suffer for what the world wont do? that is up to you, I am a christian i admit proudly, and will say God loves us all, no matter what, but our sins....our sins are the demon eating away atn the core of our society...and we refuse to stop it

An instant of time is not a part of time of which time can be divided into. An instant is more like a point on a line; it is the boundary between two periods of time. The interesting reality of time is the fact that it feels as if it will go on forever. At any point in time there is a succeeding moment and a succeeding moment giving the illusion that time is always ‘becoming’. Aristotle called this the ‘potentially infinite’, versus the actual infinite. Space could also be considered potentially infinite because the universe is forever expanding.

But could there be an infinity that exists as whole, rather than 'becoming'?
