Happiness and sadness are two sides of same coin. Life exists in the duality of the pendulum, which is moving left and right. When pendulum is moving towards happiness, it's preparing and gaining momentum for sadness. In fact, sadness is less happiness, and happiness is less sadness.
By doing so System creates balance with in itself, which makes our life interesting.
If we meditate deeply, we will come to know that our happiness is temporary because it controlled by external stimulants. We need to learn that source of happiness is inside and mind should not link it with external stimulant. Permanent happiness (BLISS is the right word) is when happiness is not dependent upon any external objects.

All i know about happiness is that you can gain it not by the presence of the things you fancy or people you adore but by being content of what you have.
Happiness for me is spending time with the one i love. An hour is enough if we spend it right. The memory of it can last a lifetime.

Happiness for me would be all those moments when all people are good & kind to each other. when they respect & understand each other. Well, happiness certainly lasts forever. It basically depends upon how you live your life. Real winners of life are those people who smile even amidst problems.

Happiness for me is being healthy, strong and playing with my kids. Happiness is the opportunity to see the sunlight enter my living room in the afternoon. Happiness is Nature around us, providing everything we need. Happiness is feeling good and in connection with the world.
Peace!

i dont think anyone is truly happy, i think you can be content...but not happy...but happy for me would be in some moment in time forgetting about the problems that surround me but then again knowing that they are in the back of my mind, still there, so i would say more or less content.
Maybe to some people they see themselves as truly happy and not just content. But hey im just stating my opinion right...lol

for a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin, real life, but there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished bussines, time still to be served, at last it dawned on me that these obstacles where my life. this perspective has helped me to see there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way! so treasure every moment you have and remember that time waits for no one! happiness is a journey not a destination!!!

When I am slim, in love, surrounded by my family and friends, and not worried about the future
It definitely doesn't last forever. Change is inevitable. Also, my mom said we can only truly appreciate happiness if we have something negative to compare it to. That is why we have to go through all those annoying down moments.
