Am I weird? I just think that money brings a lot of unhappiness and I dont want to be part of it. I would love to live in a world of my own where people dont care about money and just want to live a happy life...to care about others...to love others and to laugh and joke. Once money comes into the picture there is so much unhappiness....is it worth it?

How did a male body create?
How did a female body create?

Which came first male or female?

How did a human male come on earth, and then a human female come on earth.

How is there a male mouse, and a female mouse?

How is there a male elephant, and a female elephant?

Is there any species on this earth that is just one complete gender? No male or female.

I find recent western philosophy to be so abstract and academic, that it usually does not have alot of directly applicable principles. For example Immanuel Kant, Soren Kierkegaard, and more recenly John Rawls, I don't find people finding these works helpfull in everyday life. I'm somewhat disillusioned with more recent western philosophy.

I guess my question is, do others find themselves in the same situation, and if not what works have you read that you find to be very down to earth, that people in everyday life could use.

That ancient image of the philosopher shut in, in his ivory tower, I once hated that image, I still do, yet I'm finding it to be more and more true.

Original virtue?
Quote from: Oscar Wilde
Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man's original virtue. It is through disobedience and rebellion that progress has been made."

Anyone disagree? Opinions

Besides Plato's works? I mean, what if Plato made up Socrates just to use as a kind of mouth piece to explain his own beliefs and ideas? Is that not plausible? Socrates could merely be a fictional character.

Please take this as a food for thought question, don't burst out into argument whatever.
Heaven is often considered eternally happiness but what is happy about being in Heaven? Are you gonna enjoying floating around with cloud? Or what will you be doing there that make you so happy? Being with God makes you happy? How? What are you going to do with God? Hanging out? Chatting?
