Is this true?

beanerjr, I didn't refer to him as "friend" because he was a classmate in a multi-disciplinary (philosophy, psychology, biology) course titled "Sex, Lies, and Immorality" with whom I got into some knock-down, drag-'em-out philosophical debates. We spent some time together during the semester, hung out a couple times, but then when the course was over, he moved to Colorado, and I never heard from him again. Thus, acquaintance and not friend.

Almost. Should have been "smarter" chicks.

This changes when they become full grown.

I noticed you don't refer to him as a friend
but you male acquaintance is wrong or maybe insecure
I love intelligent women - you have to talk to her some time who wants to try holding a conversation with a dud
some guys need a girl they can talk down to so they can feel manly - kind of like those girls who need a man that they can wrap around their finger and manipulate so they can feel good about themselves

I think it's right that men appreciate smart women but when it comes to 'chicks'.
Like for example, a young pretty blond girl with big breasts they met in a bar, now, if she happened to be incredibly intelligent. I think men may be quite intimidated by that.

Intelligence is a good thing, but if it's untempered by wisdom, it can turn anyone into a boor and a Nazi.

Intelligent women are very attractive as long as they can retain their kindness, understanding, and insight, which aren't necessarily connected

I don't think it is the smart part. I would not want a dumb wife who would land me in trouble.

The smart part comes from women (and men) in relationships who have to lord their mental gifts over their partners, who are not so smart, 'cause belittling another person never is.....well........smart.

Wow, is he wrong.

Oh I'm sure some guys are so insecure that they have to feel that they're smarter than their girls, but it's been my experience that such guys are in the minority. Not that you'd want to date them anyways....

Actually men appreciate intelligence, they just don't like being bossed around by women-- be they intelligent or ignorant.
