Philosophy - March 2007

I ran down a list of my most dreaded feelings and guilt would have to be the worse. The feeling when you've done something wrong or selfish, where you feel it validates you as a bad person and you think about it before you sleep. Man i hate it.
I asked my sister and she said that awkwardness would be the no.1 on her list which surprised me so i'm just interested in finding out what's YOUR worse feeling.

So they don't act irrationally? Instead of letting your emotions control your actions, you teach yourself to have the emotion yet retain your faculties and do the logical thing?

I have a crucial moment at this time. I feel like nothing goes in the right direction. I've always been optimistic...but but that is not effective...cuz Don't havea boyfriend don't have a job ...anything...and today I felt so empty...like i'm in the middle of no where.

Any suggestions...what can give me hope to move forward....to the future?

House of Glass

i stand inside
viable to anyone outside
but yet i go unseen
the wind is visable to me
the rays of the sun touch my skin
i look up at its warmth
see my children in thier room playing
see my husband staring back at me
looking into my soul
seeing how much of me goes unseen
seeing the things hidden
the things no one else sees
my skin relishes in the warmth of his heart
projected from his heart
i spin around
my home is all i see
the walls no longer glass
no one sees me but me
i franticly go up stairs
i find my children happily playing in thier rooms
i walk to my own room and find my husband reading
when i enter the room he looks at me
the same way he had when i had just seen him
he has always seen those things
i never knew he saw
he knows me inside and out
no longer am i in the glass house

Why do so many people say it is "wrong"? I agree it is not as special or meaningful, but why is it wrong just because it is fun? What is the logical or basic moral reasoning behind the hatred towards casual sex? As long as the sex is protected, and there in no cheating involved in it, what is "wrong" with casual sex?

My plan is to live forever and so far, so good.

Here is my proof as a scientist would see it. Since i was born, i have lived 11,870 days. Each day i observed myself i did not die. So after 11,870 observations of me not dying, its scientifically logical to assume i am immortal and will not die.

As far as I know, Blaise Pascal once said something like that:

"Humans are nothing...great are only those who realize their nothing"-

But I can't agree to that. We, humans are great, in so many things we do...the buildings we make, the love we feel, the art we create...but regardless we die?

What really causes a person to turn to terrorism? Some would want you to think that they are inherently evil. The truth is that there are psychological links between oppresion hopelessness and haveing no one willing to help, that causes a person to turn to violence. Without the perception of people caring about you, how can you really care about other people?
