I hope we can, but the suburbia is running our life.
Sometimes I look at the birds in the sky and I think: Men this is true freedom!
Walking is one of the basis of the society but the planning system, in the US and mostly in all the countries of the "New World", is based on the dependence of the automobile and the separation of the uses. Where I live I can't walk to almost any place outside my "urbanization", this is typical condition of the suburban life that was imposed by the land developers and the cars manufactures.
I love to go on vacation to NY City and in a few occasions to Europe. The true happiness of this vacations is walking the cities and enjoy the urban life, this is freedom.
