I am very confused by this statement. "There are no atheist in foxholes."

Why wouldn't there be any Atheist in a fox hole? A fox hole is dug for shelter against enemy fire. If they were truly God fearing at that moment, wouldn't they be in the foxhole? Sorry, I mean if they are Atheists who suddenly have faith in God because they are scared, why would they be outside of the foxhole? If someone could clear this up, I would appreciate it. I think I confused myself, so I apologize if I confuse you.

Now a days peoples are using the word "loose" as a most common word. Simply ask Hi! where is that loose?
Is he loosen any thing or we loosen any thing with him or her
Or both or looze
We can see the school and collage peoples are using this word as repeatedly as possible.
Funny! but is it meaning full? or healthy word?

Work hard , then you didn't find time to think abuot others and have a sound sleep
Hard work without luck will give happiness?
We here the word "Lucky fellow", like cricketters. singers, actors etc..
Better luck next time, Be happy buy happy,
All the above things finally we ask what is mean by happy and please any body can give me 10 percent, if you have more.
I much feel that it could be difficult to answer.

if so. how did he prove that there is a reality independent of us? was he right in his philosophy? or has he been contradicted?

2007-03-23 20:08:43 · 2 answers · asked by Anonymous

i realy like it, as its been what i have been thinking about and studying. but i am confused about its purpose.

it like there is no facts in philosophy. only opinions. in short philosophy is about trying to capture the true nature of reality. but there is also sceptisism which is denying that there is a reality. i just dont get it. is philosophy about trying to determine whether reality is real? or is it about trying to figure out what the essence of reality is?

is there a reality with other minds that i co-exist with? and how can you adopt anything like nihilism or empericism or dualism etc if they can all be proven wrong? im realy confused.
