He was killed/murdered. When the discovery first came out there was a big aricle in the Washington Post telling about the death mystery.
Being analical I had two theories. One was possibly being sick from poisen herbs he may have eaton. The other was being killed.
I studied the evidence and pictures of where he was found and the location of where his hunting/protective equipment was found. I surmised that no survival/hunter would make came in a lower area,he was found in a ditch.
No survival/camper would have his weapons/tools spread out over such a wide area, out of his reach. From the photos it seemed he died from a long fight and long agonizing death being out of his mind from pain/injuries.
I wrote three proffesors doing the exam of the body. One was German and he answered and said they did not know and could not say if I was correct or not.
Then a couple of years ago the story came out and shown on Discovery Channel, that they xrayed his body and found a arrow head broken off inside is body (the back).
I then EMd the guy that does all the searches on the program "Searching for the Truth"' but he has not answered.
I plan to write the professors again reminding them that a ordainer person via common sense, no degrees suggested the logical answer years ago.
I think they are too embarassed to admit I was correct.

After a long day of hunting mammoths and getting home way after dark, he noticed that his dog had stayed at the kill to munch on a nice mammoth rib. In the dark he trudged alllllll the way back to find his dog and fell off an embankment in the process. His fall caused a small avalanche and was buried alive. The dog made it home by morning, his cavegal went on to make custom jewelery from the mammoth tusks, made a fortune in hides and arrowheads, got together with the icemans brother and they all pursued a life of mammoth proportions! Information regarding the dog was lost over time but its believed that pictures of the dog were found in certain caves in Arizona.

Hope this helps!

okay you asked for it...

Theory one- when iceman was found pork-u-lating the wrong person in his community... he was banished with an arrow in his back. Iceman found his way to his favorite private spiritual place and died a slow and agonizing death.

Theory two- iceman found the love of his life involved with a younger meaner studly member of his community. Iceman lost a confrontation with Mr. studly. Iceman retired to his private spiritual place to die a slow and agonizing emotionally distraught death.

Does this help any?

Forensic study has shown conclusively that he became killed via an arrow wound, which brought about him to bleed to dying - the flint arrowhead continues to be interior the physique. the previous 'disaster theory' had him fleeing into the mountains, the place he died of exposure.
