There is a hidden danger in everyone speaking their minds. Remember, every fool has an opinion too. If you mean that our society has 'dumbed up' because their comments may not be politically correct or they are worried about whom they might offend, I agree whole heartedly. Few in leadership today seem to even try to do anything which might rock the boat. In politics, our forefathers revolted with the saying, "Taxation without representation." Today in America we could easily cry, "Taxation with Misrepresentation," and maybe make some needed changes. Common sense seems to have gone out the window.

The power in any type of government always resides in the people. They usually just don't know it. People have to remind their government who is really in charge by speaking their minds and becoming involved in politics, even if it's just at a local level. Everyone speaking up (even the idiots) will force our country's leaders to keep the people's best interests in mind. People not being involved and having no faith in their leaders as a result of that is what turned Democratic Germany into Nazi Germany.

A song by Alvin Lee with the band Ten Years After comes to mind "I'd love to change the world...but I don't know what to do...so I'll leave it up to you". Well, I personally think of ways and/or solutions to have an OVERALL effect on worldly issues. I do realize that I cannot do it ALONE. It will take people such as yourself to get together and WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! Good "question" my friend.

The problem is that everyone THINK that they ARE speaking their minds. Only a highly educated person with good intentions and love in his hearth can make a difference in our society.

I agree, though some elaboration may be in order.

Change is brought about by a leader. However, the leader can do it only when we the people inspire and allow him to do so. Therefore, it is upto us the people to make desirable changes.

People do speak their minds without worrying about what others are thinking. That's what got us into most of the current messes.

i totally agree, if everyone wasnt so bothered about what everyone else thought about them, there would be amassive change, but then again, if everyone just said what they thought of everything, there could be a bit of friction going on an even more war and hatred than there already is.. and we dont really want that now do we... :)

If it's success you seek, the people must unite with God. He explains to us how we should interact with each other. He inspires the changes needed in our hearts. I like your question that's not a question, it does have a True answer that doesn't appear to be the answer.
