Your grasp of how evolution works is... shaky. Species evolve in response to change. When we introduce a new bug spray, all of the bugs suseptible to that spray die. The minority that has the genetic code built in to survive that spray then are the only ones left to repopulate, so soon all of the bugs of that type are resistant to that kind of bug spray. So if the world suddenly became, say, totally covered with water, those few people who had gills would be the only ones alive and they'd repopulate, so the "evolved" humanity would be water breathers. Capice?

Oh, and most people think we're the apex because it makes them feel good. They forget that there are predators out there that can take us down, no problem.

According to evolutionary thought we are still evolving. Eventually we will be like gods. Such is the theory, and points to man's constant quest to put himself above all, and leave the great and merciful God out of the picture. I'm glad you asked "if" evolution is true. It cannot be proved or demonstrated. Matter does not come from nowhere, nor design from chaos. God created man, His highest creation, to delight in Him alone and bring Him glory.

you must REALY not understand evolution. there is areason people are different races. look at bacteria and how it evolves. the AIDS virus evolved. there have even been recent studies that show the pinky toe is slowely disapearing. but the thumbs are getting bigger.
