[Selected]: All categories Arts & Humanities Philosophy

can you choose what philosopher to beleive in and follow? can you pick and choose bits and peices of each philosophers teachings to beleive in?

the reason i ask this is because i have no idea what philosopher is right and which philosopher is wrong. it seems as if every famous philosopher has been proven wrong in there philosophies.

Consider this, that without language there would be no war. Arguments and disagreements, all created by language, which is called thinking, create hate, enmity, and fear of others who are different. When language is treated like the important tool that it is, instead of just being taken for granted, would we use language in a way that helped create a kinder, better, society for everyone? A hammer is a wonderful tool, but a chimpanzee cannot build anything with it. Language is also a tool, and humans don't seem able to build anything with words that further words are not capable of destroying; like society.
Language, the way humans use it, equals war! Is this tool that God supposidly gave us to much for our tiny minds to handle? Let's have some feedback on this most important question.

I find it very ironic that some people who give answers are rated top contributors, yet theirs are the answers that are the most opinionated and biased of all. Are these the people who just want to voice their say somewhere, just for the sake of it? If you're a top contributor, you would think it would be to contribute something worth contributing. When someone asks a question, they want a relevant answer, not a piece of someone's mind.

Why would this be such an implasuible consideration? or does it just threaten the status quo?

This possiblity (in my opinion) does not negate the exisitence of GOD or the teaching of the bible and it may actually support it.
Any thoughts

everyone knows that no one can grasp the nature of reality. and that there is no emperical evidence that we can point to that says this is all real. we can only know our subjective perceptions.

when it all comes down to it it is all about faith that there is an objective reality. but do you have faith that this is all real? if so what is your proof? and how do you keep your faith in reality? dont you get disturbed by the fact that your faith could be wrong?

Which is sent to convert the hermit from his antisocial behavior. But the bear is soon turned to the hermit in empathy and thus in time becomes a hermit himself. I just saw this on youtube, in a text comment, and I was wondering if anyone has heard of this story. There was also mention of some religious/spiritual factor; in that- the bear loses his ability to be holy? This sparked my interest, and I do hope someone out there knows this story, its origins, the writer, a LINK?> Thanks, Cheers! and GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!~
