Which is sent to convert the hermit from his antisocial behavior. But the bear is soon turned to the hermit in empathy and thus in time becomes a hermit himself. I just saw this on youtube, in a text comment, and I was wondering if anyone has heard of this story. There was also mention of some religious/spiritual factor; in that- the bear loses his ability to be holy? This sparked my interest, and I do hope someone out there knows this story, its origins, the writer, a LINK?> Thanks, Cheers! and GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!~

There is a story very similar to this in Russian spirituality. Check out the story, or the biography of Seraphim of Sarov. He was an 1800s hermit who lived alone in the forest and developed a relationship with a bear. It is this story that Dostoevsky used in his wonderful novel "The Bothers Karamazov"
