If it wasn't, you wouldn't be here to ask the question!
And, it just is. No reason other than it was all determined within the first 10^-31 second after the big bang.

What aspect of the universe are you reffering to? Its basic design is the way it is because that's the only way it can function properly.

Because of the magnetic forces holding it in this orbit

We're not the only planet with animals, plants and life!

Our world? Some feel it was "created", others feel it "developed" via natural means over time, other feel it was just "instantly" here without any explaination, others feel it was "built". A lot of thoughts and ideas on that one... Pick one that makes sense and feels right to you.

If you look at the Galaxy of Andromeda, the big brother of the Milky Way, you will see that is very similar to our Galaxy. The solar systems, I believe, are also very similar because they are formed basically in the same way. The laws of physics are the same in all the places of the Universe for that reason is very probable that we are not the only planet with life.
Life similar to us? This is really a hard question.

Planets rotate around stars, a fine plan. And, we are hardly the only planet with life among a billion trillion quadrillion to the billionth power squared, other planets, i'm quite sure :))

How did it all arise--so many theories, religious and otherwise--take your choice: Kaballah's "fun", but then so is the Vedic explanation and the Daoist..Check it out !! :)))
