you said it is important, is it important to him or to you or important on its own, how badly does he need to sell it, is it his to sell, what will he do with the money, how badly does he need the money, if he is unsure then he shouldn't do it!

Will the sale of it hurt Colin or anyone else? Is Colin forced to sell because of his dire situation? What is the balance of importance of 'it' and not having 'it' if its sold? These are the questions I would ask before selling. I couldn't tell Colin whether to sell or not. Its his decision and ultimately nothing I say will make his decision any easier or harder...

If it's that important then Colin shouldn't sell it, but if he feels he cannot keep it then he should give it away. If we hold onto something we cannot let go of then we don't possess it, it possesses us.

No he should keep a firm grip on it because one day it will be worth more than he can ever imagine. If he sells it one day he will see somebody with one and will think "I used to have one of those but I sold it" and he will always regret it.
