I am 71 and possibly on borrowed time. Although I am usually somewhat depressed because my life didn't turn out to be what I wanted it to be, I still do not want to die. I love my friends, my family, and still see much beauty in this world. Death is forever. And who knows "what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil." Although I go to church every week and most of the time I am a believer, I guess I am not 100% sure about life in the hereafter.

The relationship between the body and the soul must be clearly understood. Our body is meant to live an average life of about 70 to 80 years whereas our soul within is on its cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations altogether. It is a long journey indeed for the total journey would require approximately 96.4 million earthly years. The soul (the inner self existing within us) is the real essence of life. It cannot be destroyed or eliminated by any means. It is our soul which has manifested the body and never otherwise.

I live on passionate dreams. Don't make no money. I have a loving God and a loving husband etc. I breathe the Holy Spirit of life and my ultimate goal is to show everyone the way to Christ.

I have no much choice, i must live till my time comes. i experience all what you just described; sometimes i don't have a clue, sometimes i dream, sometimes i am just breathing, life is actually have all these combinations but unequally distributed, you know. I love life because its precious and it means something, at least i can make it that way in "some" moments.
life is precious.

The fear of rebirth. Buddhism and some religions teaches that you will be reborn after you die.
I don't want to die now. Reborn. Then go through the growing up pains, the army and all the schooling again. Starting all over again scares me.

I feel that other people rely on my. I think that there is too much pain involved in death. I wouldn’t want to come close to killing myself, but not quite make it and then wake up in a hospital in pain the rest of my life. I also think I’d go to hell if I killed myself.

I am living because I am not willing to embrace death..... and I am not willing to embrace death because I have no idea what awaits me after death. It is as simple as that.... otherwise there are umpteen moments in life when I might seriously weigh the option of death.... but as things are, such a weighing of option is not possible due to lack of knowledge regarding the state of affairs after death.
