Scenario I
The old world perceives that monogamous relationship should be few and lead to one marriage, typically for life.

It is upset that their offspring redefine the boundaries as serial monogamous relationship.

The next generation believe that switching one recreational partner a day is preferred over being seen at socially taboo designated places.

Scenario II

Traditional society believes that monogamous relationships should exist in a conjugal arrangement that allows many spouses financially supported by the dominant other sex.

It is upset that their offspring redefine boundaries to a serial monogamous relationship that believes one marriage for life.

Two things occur:
The next generation does away long term emotional attachment and decide it is cheaper soliciting physical and psychological attachment allowing changes to suit personal needs; and
The next generation does away with multiple partners singly and takes to having one partner for life.

Scenario I
A melancholic society where happiness is a boon not to be taken for granted.
Conversely, a generally happy society, sorrow is the jewel in the gem when applied to the arts.

Scenario II
A war is on where life is the exception. The smell of death is pervasive and everyone accepts the inevitability albeit life lived a shorter duration. They accept it and celebrate life as happiness.
In another country, peace is expected. Any death brings about great feelings of loss.

So why grouse over routine experiences and not learn to rationalize and live with it ?

Serious and preferably no academic responses please.

(Opinions are welcome. Kindly refrain from diatribe and ad hominem attacks.)

PREMISE
To get a high, there are legal consequence with unauthorised drug abuse, commitment in marital agreement and avoiding the use of prostitutes for fear of sexually transmitted diseases. Serial monogamous sex has the attraction of fewer legal and social implications today that makes it palatable to the conniving traditional and conservative elders and an easy excuse for the masses.

QUESTION
Morally, short of (in the religious and non-religious aspect) claiming faithfulness and commitment upon marriage, would not persons of this disposition be equivalent to cheating oneself, living a lie, and therefore be likely to be unfaithful based on the saying a tiger cannot change its stripes ?

If you disagree, how so ?

Drug abuse: As in conventionally prohibited against the law, barring places like Amsterdam. Consumption of cocaine, Es and so on. In some countries, trafficking is punishable by death.
