Scenario I
A melancholic society where happiness is a boon not to be taken for granted.
Conversely, a generally happy society, sorrow is the jewel in the gem when applied to the arts.
Scenario II
A war is on where life is the exception. The smell of death is pervasive and everyone accepts the inevitability albeit life lived a shorter duration. They accept it and celebrate life as happiness.
In another country, peace is expected. Any death brings about great feelings of loss.
So why grouse over routine experiences and not learn to rationalize and live with it ?
Serious and preferably no academic responses please.
(Opinions are welcome. Kindly refrain from diatribe and ad hominem attacks.)

Varied experiences and bystander to other’s less than desirable experiences for which no solutions arose at the time, the mind proceeds to unravel the human condition to understand, if not alleviate its problems in future context.
