Scenario I
A melancholic society where happiness is a boon not to be taken for granted.
Conversely, a generally happy society, sorrow is the jewel in the gem when applied to the arts.

Scenario II
A war is on where life is the exception. The smell of death is pervasive and everyone accepts the inevitability albeit life lived a shorter duration. They accept it and celebrate life as happiness.
In another country, peace is expected. Any death brings about great feelings of loss.

So why grouse over routine experiences and not learn to rationalize and live with it ?

Serious and preferably no academic responses please.

Prepared disposition to create a reality other than pre-existing circumstantial environs brings to light the exceptional people in our lives. In Africa and in Asia, communities can be in a state of poverty and yet take pride and find happiness in their lives by living in the moment and the hope that tomorrow brings. News channels underscore the miseries of life as they are eye popping media content and society perpetuates an atmosphere of pessimism although being better off than their third world counterparts. It makes you wonder if half the misery is self inflicted by society instead of looking at the glass half full. Death perpetuates a cycle affecting the aftermath on those witnessing the event. Invariably, they are more likely to succumb to the depression and follow the dictates of their culture and human nature. The noteworthy are once again the exception.

When you expect something or someone to make you happy you stay depended on the external world to make you happy.

Though in reality you can always stay happy when you choose to stay in gratitude for what you have in life, instead of feeling sorry for what you don’t.

That way a happy person is usually is the one who is most in gratitude for the goodness of life.

You decide whether the glass is half empty or half full, and so you choose your state of mind.

I choose to live in unity with God in Unconditional Love, within my heart. You may and do, choose your state of being. Carnal man lives in a state of seperation from God, believing he has a freewill of his on, then calling Gods will "his desire" he creates his own heaven or hell on earth through the law of Karma, actions in thought word and deed, also his destiny. Choose carefully the thoughts you allow to enter and remain in your mind.

Happiness, misery and sorrow are choices. You don't have to ignore reality to make the choice of happiness.
