When you try and yet fail again? When you get up after falling just to sustain another blow? When you loosing your strength and your will to fight? When you are a rational and intelligent person and you realize that your chances are better at winning even if you just try, but you cannot bring yourself not to give up?

He is a moral relativist... but why does he insist on self-overcoming? Or am I wrong and actually self-overcoming is not a moral obligation. Just a moral that Nietzsche in particular finds valuable?

Also, somewhere in his work he said that he is not interested to hear what you are "free from," but he wants to know what you are "free for?" Granted that he said this in the chapter saying not everybody had the capacity to be an overman. But what I'm wondering is- to a moral relativist, why does it matter that you are free for anything? Can you not choose the most flimsy of reasons?

One where instead of power and money we seek knowledge, enlightenment and truth? And work not to benefit ourselves, but to enrich and empower humankind as a whole. To live by the thought of "The need of the many outweighs the need of the few."

Or am i just delusional?

If you were in a relationship (marriage, etc), would it be wrong to class someone else as your soulmate - such as a best friend - whom you have known from childhood and is also the same gender?

I just read a few of some of the really good questions and answers, and I'm already feeling so much better...to be honest I've been contemplating suicide for some time now. That would be an incredible waste, as I'm only in my mid teens.

Have you been inspired by any questions in particular? Which ones?

By the way, thank you to all who contribute to this section.

A terminal disease contracted during birth and has a 100% mortality rate!

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A death! What's that, a bonus?!? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. The you go live in an old age home. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You drink alcohol, you party, and you get ready for High School. You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little boy(girl), you go back, you spend your last 9 months floating with luxuries like central heating, spa, room service on tap, then you finish off as an orgasm!!

Uff... Now that's what life should be!!

What do you think?

To forget the past, the pain, the anguish, the anger, the wrongs done to you AND by you? How one stops blaming oneself for what cannot be changed anymore but still weights heavily on one's mind? How to learn to forgive oneself? How to learn to be not perfect?

I don't believe in fate. But if somebody could prove to me that it exists, then I'd consider it. Any ideas for ways of proving that fate exists?

Before i go deeper into the question, let's first state the following things, to prevent discussion about God, evolution theory and science. It's a thought-experiment so it doesn't need to be factual.

OK, lets state that:

1. Its 2907
2. Evolution theory is real and accepted
3. We have created a device that can create 2 other universes, but causing the destruction of our own.
4. Scientists and philosophers agree that the meaning of life is: To create two universes and take survival of the fittest to a universal scale.
5. When the universes are created ours is destroyed, but the two new will be filled with human dna, so that our species will thrive in two universes
6. String theory (and thus multiple universes are real)

Ok then, the questions are:
I: Could the meaning of life be a godlike creation of new universes?
II: would anyone want this?
III: Can survival of the fittest be a intergalactic issue?

A lot of reading, but I'm interested in your answers!

the question was ; ''why some people act evil?''

one of the answer was ; ''Bad childhood, no father, no mother, alone, never learned how to behave, short temper, high anger, anger issues, no love as a child, a stone heart. You have great parents who taught you right from wrong, and gave you a lot of love. ''

i want to make it clear, my parents taught me nothing. i don't even have good relationship with my father, family is NOT an excuse for being unfair and evil. i taught myself. there is no excuse for being bad, ignorance is NOT an excuse. i forgive people who act evil, but still ignorance is a choice not an excuse.//
