Does anyone else out there believe that we'll ever actually achieve "world peace"? Or that there is still some good out there? I think that if we all really wanted to, we could come together and work together to make the world a better place...but sometimes i feel that no one really cares about the well being of their fellow man (and woman), and that we're all just looking out for "numero uno".
I would really like to hear from some people that still care about the fate of the world, and all of the other people that live in it.
My grandfather once told me, "B, the world is composed entirely of others, with one trifling exception, remember that."
Peace <3

Look at all the junk today. You want to be open to all of it...go ahead.

I was open minded...landed me in jail. I was open to the idea that maybe drugs weren't so bad....maybe selling them is ok too......

I am happy to say if something doesn't line up with the word of G-d, I am closed to it. I will politely say "yeah, uh-huh" and disregard it.

Don't most stick to their beliefs anyhow even the "open minded" ?

I'm just being honest.

Plus G-d works on the heart and Satan can only enter through the mind. That is my belief, I know its not everyone's.

So isn't it better to be closed minded and open hearted??

...this is thought to result in cell senescence and apoptosis (cell death). Do you think this fact is enough to discredit Darwin's process of natural selection? Death would therefore be programmed into the geneome and be somrthing that had to be adapted for. What would be the selection advantage of death?

For example, a tragic accident takes someone close to you, although it is tragic.... Is there always good in every bad situation?

i was heart broken
yes i was
now i know...
you told me things
every girl dreams to hear
you hurted me deep
wounds will never heal
you told me stories
no,it was a fairy tales
i was heart broken
yes i was
everything i know
and will know
every where
and every place i `ll go
i will see you
not the man of my dreams
just evil eyes looking
back at me
i was heart broken
yes i was
this heart of mine
has tried and tried
to feel love
to be loved
that greatest feeling
of all times
is it to much to ask?
to find someone to say
i love you
someone to give your life away
someone to hold you when you are down
someone to hang around
is it too much to ask?
yes it is
when you are heart broken
yes i was

Sight and interpretation is a matter of efficiency. We (or our brains) must understand what we are seeing as fast as possible...

1. When you pay attention to something, the observed object looks clear, and any surrounding object looks kind of blurry.

2. We store memories of how things look, so when we look at something we don't waste time analyzing it, but rather unsusual details jump to our attention.

Any other?

(Verse 1)
Be sitting there crying
It's 3 AM.
And he's still not here
Don't know what to do
Mind racing don't know what to think
Where can he be?
Does he still luv me?
Am I still his girl?
Then a thought raced through my mind...

(Chorus)
Get over him
Get over him
Don't you know that ur better off this way
He's nothing new
He's just a guy
He will never love you for who you really are
He doesn't want your love
He wants the sastifaction of having you
He's not worth it
Just let him goooo

(Hook)
It's just not the same as it used to be
I'm trying to tell myself that it will all work out in the end
But i know the truth
And I can't fool myself
In thinking that I need a man in my life
So sick and tired of this
Ain't got the time to reminice
What we had ain't meant nothing
Oh no no

(Verse 2)
Trying to be over you
It's hard for me it's not easy
Everything i see reminds me of what used to be
But i know that inside i dont mean nothing to you
This relationship no matter how much i care
Stuck here trying not to 'member the good times
But to you they dont' mean a thing
I don't think need to care
But these thing are just the begining of the end
Even though I'm not ready to let it all go

(Bridge)
Things aren't going well
And i can't get over you
I still remmeber when you touch me
Kissing you under the stars
Even though I know i'm just another girl
And really this dont' mean a thing...

(Hook)
It's just not the same as it used to be
I'm trying to tell myself that it will all work out in the end
But i know the truth
And I can't fool myself
In thinking that I need a man in my life
So sick and tired of this
Ain't got the time to reminice
What we had ain't meant nothing
Oh no no

(Verse 3)
I'm trying to get over you
But the picture of you just won't get out of my mind
Wondering where you are
Wondering who ur with
Who cares?
Is what i'm trying to make myself think
I know i'm beter off this way
And it's sucks to reminice
It's not meant to be forever

(Chorus)
Get over him
Get over him
Don't you know that ur better off this way
He's nothing new
He's just a guy
He will never know who you really are
He doesn't want your love

I have just watched a video on the trial of Jeffery Dahmer, how can anyone like that be considered sane??? if he is/was just evil, then surely there is just good, and only good somewhere?? is there such thing as serial nice guy that tries to do nice everywhere he goes even at his own expense??

Unhappy people dislike the happiness of others. This sounds very obvious-but why?
This question is for a young lad who is rather unhappy with his own life and tries to share this misery with apparently happy people. Why does he do this?
I am sure he would welcome an explanation from a psychological point of view.
P.S.--I know this is philosophy but there appears to be a problem with psychology section.

It just seems a shame that economics, greed, and politics undermine universal human goodwill. While we pride ourselves in being the most intelligent creatures on this planet, looking at the world in its current state, it seems that we are only intelligent enough to destroy our environment while we constantly squabble to acquire our dwindling natural resources as opposed to applying our intellect to solving the problems of the world. After all, isn't that what a truly intelligent species would do?
