Omar Kiam is my favorite, such splendor and common sense, but the world's leader in philosophy that made psychology a business and with good cause and theories, is Arthur Schoepenhauer,"World and Will and Representation"
That is the most informative philosopher I have ever read and really truly the best.

Jean Paul Sartre, he was a high school philosophy teacher in the French city where my mother grew up and lived. He taught in Laon before returning to Paris to teach there. Yet while Sartre lived in Laon, he published one philosophical book about perception and was working on another one Nausea. My grandfather was attending the school the same time Sartre was teaching there.

If i am looking towards an ethical system Kant and Kierkegaard. If i am look for more epistemological Hume. So really it depends on what branch i am dealing with.
