I will remember falling in love. I'll remember letting go of my past and just letting myself be loved fully and completely. In regards to love this has been the best year of my life. Every year is going to have its' ups and downs but this year to me a very changing year. Who I was has changed, and who other people were have changed. Such as friends who I used to think were there, are no longer. I'm looking forward to more love and happiness. Maybe not new friends because I'm doing with being hurt. But I'm looking forward to being content with what I have and moving forward in my life always. Growing stronger every day. I love this question and I hope everyone reflects on this. And start 2007 with a positive mind, remembering only the good times of 2006.

I will remember 2006 as:
-the year that our daughter graduated from high school with honors
-the year that our son turned age 5
-the year that I changed jobs and learned new skills in the workplace
-this year was the 6th year since my Dad passed away
-2006 was also the year that my husband and I celebrated 14 wonderful years together!
For 2007 I will:
*continue to view the world as a positive place
*START MY OWN BUSINESS!!!!
*have a great time on our family vacation in Hawaii
*have a wonderful time in Mexico on vacation with just my husband!
*(hopefully!) play volleyball again (for the first time since I tore my achilles tendon!)
*enjoy seeing our daughter studying hard and having much success during her 2nd semester of college
*look forward to taking our son to Kindergartgen in the fall
*take a class or two at our university
*spending lots of time with my Cinema Sisters and the ladies my book club
*plan an all girls Halibut fishing charter weekend in Valdez
*enjoy time with my husband, kids, mother, brother, in-laws, outlaws and others and
*finally, continue to honor The 4 Agreements:
Be Impeccable with Your Word
Do Not Make Assumptions
Do Not Take Anything Personally
Always Do Your Best!
(from Don Miguel Ruiz's The Four Agreements...a GREAT book!!)

it is the year I...
ate a lot of food
dropped out
enrolled
planted a tree
became aware of something that I was previously unaware of.
realized I am not who I thought I was.
Talked to my pets.
stepped into some doggy poo.
cleaned my shoe of doggy poo.
was disgusted by the smell of doggy poo on my shoe
was happy that my shoe was clean of the smelly doggy poo that I stepped in with my shoe.
Saw IRON MAIDEN in concert again.
played a lot of football
saw a lot of people
made new friends
lost a few friends
gained a a few kilos
lost them again
bought awesome footballboots
played on awesome footballboots
got an ankle injury because my opponent didn't like my footballboots.
--
And I'm sure I'll remember the year for lots of other things too. I just can't remember them right now

Well, thanks for asking.
Retracing my steps of 2006 I most certainly can say it was the longest year of my life. I found my Hero: a paramedic - who gave me courage to stand up for myself and, believe and trust in people.
For him I did all I did. And I never want to let him down - during 2006 I achieved my dream. To depict the significance my local Police posses in my life. I spent months working on something for them that amazingly cleared their doubts. And the Chief rewarded me with something - but he gave me much more then he will know: a sense of belonging.
I've met a lot of people...RCMPs, firefighters, Officers etc. and wonderful people who taught me many lessons of life. I will always be grateful for their kindness.
Having said that, in the next year - 2007 - I can assume the worse which my Hero has prepared me for. And the can guarantee the wondrous success beyond imagination - which my Hero has always shared with me. I am very proud of him and I hope that in my foreseeable future I can be more strong to approach those I admire. And hopefully I can expand my education level, and graduate from high school with flying colours so I can pursue my ambition.
Have a joyful holiday and welcome to 2007!
Stay safe. - Maryam

The birth of my baby boy. Although very complicated and nearly tragic due to many complications, it was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I almost passed away, but it has taught me to be a better person. I am more thankful for the little things and I realize now how important it is to let those who are close to you know just how much they mean to you. My family and I have been very blessed and I have never felt so close to God and so aware of his presence and his plans for me.

It was a good year because I was able to finally to retire from a state government job that I did not like.
For 2007, I just want it to a healthy one for me.
I also want for ALL of our uniformed men and women to come home.
