you know, something good can come out of any experience, if we are willing not be be victims of what happens to us. Unfortunately, we as humans tend to learn our life lessons best when we go through painful or difficult problems. So, yes, absolutely, something good can always come ... if we are open and willing to let any pain go.

As many of the people who have already answered this question have said, it depends on how you look at whatever situation you are faced with. I don't have any profound answer to this question. All I can say is that I've spent time looking back at many of the bad things that have happened to me in life, and in almost every one of those bad situations(deaths of loved ones, abandonment by a parent ect.)I was able to find some kind of good.
Sometimes, it was just a tiny little sliver of good, but goodness was still there. At the same time, you could look at many seemingly good situations and find bad things about those situations. For example, you win the lottery.
Well, you might be contacted by a thousand long lost relatives you never knew you had. You might have to spend a lot of time defending yourself against people who are going to look for every reason they can find to sue you, knowing that you're a millionaire. Maybe you start worshiping all that money instead of remembering all the things in life that are REALLY important. It's all in how you look it.

Of course not. A 'tragic accident' is just that; it is a tragedy and it is an accident. There is nothing good that comes from losing someone close to you. However, you can use the good that came from that relationship and perpetuate it, i.e.: allow the good qualities of that person to affect the way you live your life.

It depends on your ability to "find" that good thing in the bad thing, or you can just "believe" you can always find it. Is there sometimes "bad" in a "good" situation? Sure, it's called unintended consequences. Like you try to help someone, and they get mad at you for it, which happens all the time! Or you're watching a movie, relaxing and having a great time, then you remember you forgot to do something important. Your movie just screwed you over! I guess it all comes down to "hope" and "power." Do you have the hope and do you have the power?

I think that there is good and bad in everything but the actual accident itself is bad and there is no good about that. However to look on the brighter side is always to be looked upon, so we tend to make the best out of a bad situation.

Hindsight is 20/20. Good very often does come from horrible circumstances. Not always. It's cliche (it hate cliches but find myself using them often). In every cloud there is a silver lining. Or rather, in most clouds there is a silver lining.
:)
(Nothing good can ever come from a tragice accident. But in time ppl heal and move on.)

A greater good always comes from an evil.
The omnipotence of God makes it so.
But not necessarily for the individual. That action of God refers primarily and necessarily to the *greater* good.
Although the individual is given the opportunity to make something good out of a bad situation, he or she could use their free will to rebel against God, or succumb to bitterness and self pity, and end up in the eternal defeat called hell.
But for every sin or evil committed (although sin is always forbidden by God), God makes things happen so that the overall plan of creation is better than if that sin or evil never occurred.

my father committed suicide almost 5 months ago....so i know what you mean about good coming out of bad....
im not sure what good has to come out of this awful situation but in any other cases, such as me not being able to fly home because flights were just too expensive for last minute flying....at any rate, if you feel that good can come out of a bad situation, then it can. you just have to be strong, have faith and believe. as much as i wish we could bring back the ones we have lost, we can only believe they are here with us, in spirit.

Good and bad, in addition to being very subjective, are mutually exclusive.
Something good can happen regardless of something bad. Both can exist at the same time, and either can be caused by the same event. Crashing your car is bad for you, good for your auto mechanic.

nothing is inherently good or inherently bad (except maybe god who is good by definition but that's another story). everything depends on the way you look at things, especially since no one can tell you what "good" and "bad" is. like beauty and ugliness: a woman who is considered beautiful by a person may not be considered beautiful by another
