It's really a long story why i am leaving this so late.
But on friday i was asked to audition in one weeks time, got some books from the libary which all turned out to be utter tripe!!!!!
I have three days left and need a monologue (2-3mins) for a female around 25 - 35, preferably british.
I'm really out of touch with this kind of thing and massively need help.
Have already trawled through the internet.
Many thanks for any help

I am an actress, so I have no probalm on 'stage' but when I am surrounded by all of the faces in my class room my shoulders come up to my head, I studder, I sweat, and I shake! This is so embarrassing! I am an amazing writter, and I want to grow up to be an author, but I cant do that if I cant speak in front of my class! I want peope to focus on what I am saying, not what I am doing.

I played an awesome electronic set the other day but i am not sure if i should go that route or keep buying cymbals and heads for my Tama set. How do they sound in a live setting? I like the ease of set up and the fact that i dont need to mic them or screw with the heads before a gig. Are there any good high end sets for playing clubs? I dont want a cheesy sound!! Anybody??

i have a flying v guitar body and a strat clone. The body was given to me by my friend and there was no neck. I tried to put in the neck from my strat copy but it was a bit small (abt 0.2-0.3 cm smaller), so i was wondering whether i have to buy a neck especially for the flying v or should i buy wood filler to fill in the space?

Hi, I'm 29 and just now learning how to sight read. I never thought it would be so hard, but I'm thinking it will be worth it when I'm 50. Do you think I should learn the bass cleff as well as treble? Keep in mind I play guitar exclusively right now. Just learing the treble cleff is hard enough. What do you think?

I am a jazz musician studying in London. What is it with the majority of people who can run licks in all keys on their instruments? so what?! its a lick? its not individuality! so many musicians aren't striving for their own sound. I know language is important....but why aren't musicians adapting the language for their own style of playing....i think people are forgetting the meaning of music..... what do you all think?

I'm getting a Ibanez RGE4XQM1 (I think that's how it is spelled?) for my birthday, and I want a new amplifier for Christmas. I only have a cheapy little Squier Strat pack amplfier and does pretty good, but I want something better. Preferably with reverb or presence options. I'm considering a Limited Edition Zakk Wylde Micro Stack. Suggestions?

Also, here's a list of some ideas:

Zakk Wylde

Dunlop Zakk Wylde Wah Pedal (suggestion)
Autographed Slash Dunlop Wah Pedal (does Guitar Center still sell it?)

I know there are primarily two sounds/tones one sings like, and I'm not talking about soprano vs. alto, etc. I mean, if someone has a straight tone, they have no vibrato and it sounds solid. However, I can't seem to recall what the other term is.. the breathy, airy one. Does anyone know the technical term for it?

I am 16 years old and I am planning on buying an acoustic guitar within a few weeks. Since schools starting soon, I won't be able to get signed up for lessons to learn how to play. I was just planning on also purchasing a book or DVD set to help me learn how to play. If I got one of these books/DVD sets, How long will it take me to learn the basic steps so I'll be able to play regular songs? I've played only one intrument in the past and it was a clarinet, maybe since I know the notes to play that, maybe it'll be a little more simple to play the guitar. What do you think?
Thanks in Advance,
Shawna-xox.

Hi, I was recently admitted to a fairly prestigious orchestra in my city. I have a seating audition tomorrow, and I keep messing up my piece whenever I play it for anyone--it's fine when I'm practicing, but I get really nervous and mess up even just playing for my parents. How can I avoid getting really nervous and screwing up massively in the audition?????? Help!

I just joined a university marching band few days ago (i am n the band camp right now.) and play the flute. I have no experience in high school marching band and have not played flute before, either. I found that it is really hard of being a member in the band since I just started to learn the flute (self teaching and has private lesson by a music major college student). We have 8 hours of practice each week in the marching band. Everyone in this band has played the flute for many years and have been in marching band in high school. I personally think it is really stressful being in this band since I can hardly play those music...but we have a lot of fun in the band and I've made nice friends in there. So should I quit the band? Is that possible to catch up if I have private flute lessons(btw, i pay the lessons by myself), how long it will take for this transition? Is it worth to be in the marching band?

I have been playing guitar for two years and, like most guitarists, i have been reading only TABs. but I DO know how to read the music. i played other instruments before so i know how to read treble clef. but i am unable to read the music AND play it on guitar.

can some people recommend a beginner book for guitar to learn to read and play music. i dont want books with TABs under the music because that just reuins the whole point in trying to learn to read music
