save yourself the stress and don't learn anything new. Pick something you know very well already, something you could sing in you sleep. that way, if you get nervous ( and we all do) you'll still be able to go on with your song.
Most choir directors take this into account, and disregard things like nervous flutter in the voice, or gaspy breathing.
He/she will be listening for the basic sound of your voice, whether it will fit into the chorus sound ( some voices are so personal and high-profile that they just don't make good chorus voices) and whether you stay in tune or not.
Sheer gorgeousness of sound is for soloists, ok?
If your sinuses are bothering you, try "steaming" yourself. Close the windows and doors of the bathroom, and turn on the shower very hot so the room steams up. Just sit in there for a while ( not in the hot water!) and see if the temperature and steam doesn't help alleviate the pressure in your sinuses. Cheaper, and more localized: fill a bowl with boiling water, and inhale the steam. Use a towel as a "roof" over your head so the steam stays trapped inside. Please don't scald yourself, either way.
good luck

Take care of yourself so that you don't get sicker for starters. Try taking some echanecea, extra vitaminc C, zinc, etc to help boost your immune system. Drinking tea with honey may also be of help.

Having never heard you, I don't have any particular song suggestions. My best advice is to choose a piece that you can whip up really easily, yet, works well for your voice type. If possible, choose a piece that fits the style of the choir. So, if it's for a show choir, maybe a broadway tune. If it's a more "traditional" choir, then maybe a pretty christmas carol or something. A lot of times, directors are mainly looking for the quality of your voice and to see if you can sing on pitch. So also be prepared to possibly sing a scale or two, along with some vocal exercises. These will detect not only your ability to sing in tune, but the range of your voice.

If you make the choir, don't be upset with what section you sing in. It's also an additional bonus if you can read music and easily harmonize a tune. If you can't--don't worry about it as it's a skill that your teacher will (hopefully) work on. Or you can always buddy up with someone that can read music outside of class for help.

Good luck!

I would sing a song that your comfortable with that you know your good at. I like to belt out those notes but it could be different for you. Choose one that you feel confident doing. Don't get nervous, keep cool, and remember don't let em' see you sweat.

Hope you do well
