I am an actress, so I have no probalm on 'stage' but when I am surrounded by all of the faces in my class room my shoulders come up to my head, I studder, I sweat, and I shake! This is so embarrassing! I am an amazing writter, and I want to grow up to be an author, but I cant do that if I cant speak in front of my class! I want peope to focus on what I am saying, not what I am doing.

You do not need drugs. Sheesh. Your problem is understandable. I mean, when you are on stage you feel separate from the audience and thats what keeps you from getting nervous.. but in a close classroom setting you get choked up. Just take deep, cleansing breaths before you begin, that should help the shakes... and remember to take your time, dont rush thru it. Good luck! In time you will break yourself of this!!

Stage fright in any setting is possible, no matter what public performance history you have. It just means you're normal, that's all.
I'm a performing artist, too, and my favorite director has always taught me that stage fright is a form of selfishness. We have an obligation to share with others what we enjoy ourselves. You've put so much hard work and effort into doing what you do, don't sell yourself short by failing to execute.
All this is easier said than done, but I think it will come with practice over time. Even if you practice in front of your family and friends, you'll get accustomed to the energy that fills you when you're in front of people, strangers or students. Pretty soon, it gets addicting and you learn to love it, sometimes even crave it!

if the case is really serious you may have socail anxiety disorder! Prescription drug and councilling may be your only choices, but usually if you keep up with being in the public eye you can get over your fear, for instance when i started drama class in highschool i was terrified for the first few times but quickly got over it. go see the guidance counsiller in your school and discuss this with them, you will be surprised how much you have in common with the rest of the population and how this problem can really hold people back!
