I know there are primarily two sounds/tones one sings like, and I'm not talking about soprano vs. alto, etc. I mean, if someone has a straight tone, they have no vibrato and it sounds solid. However, I can't seem to recall what the other term is.. the breathy, airy one. Does anyone know the technical term for it?

Aspirated means you are putting out too much air ( like an "H" sound) and little tone. The sound won't carry far and it's bad for your vocal chords.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I'm thinking of "head voice" and "chest voice." The "head voice" is the light, airy one and a "chest voice" is what you use when you're belting out a song.
