I play piano and I like classical musics. Now I decided to learn another music instrument. It's a tough choice between violin and flute. I like violin but I'm afraid I'll hurt my fingers.

Besides violin and flute, do you have any good suggestions?
What instument do you think I should learn? Thanks!

Is there like a key step or something at the very beginning of composition for music? Or a specific order to write the music (EG: melody first, accompaniment next?) or just anything that makes composition a little easier?

I've been trying to teach myself how to play the piano for a while now(6 months). I haven't really used a book yet, but I plan to in the near future. All I know about piano lessons is that they're extremely expensive and I would have to start from scratch anyway. My first question is, would it be possible to teach myself how to read music and play the piano with just a book? Also, I'm having so much trouble with my left hand (I am right handed). I just can't seem to play anything with it, and I have tried so hard to get the grip. Is that a problem for me? Does that mean I will never be able to play? I know I need practice with it, and I have been, but nothing seems to be helping, I practice for two hours every weekday, and it's almost all I can do on the weekends. I wish there was an easier way to learn because I really want to. Please answer my questions. If you can only answer one that's fine and I really appreciate your time.

I've never played the guitar before but will be taking classes at a community college. I saw a sale at Costco for a Suzuki acoustic guitar, model SUA-D for $100 after rebate. Since I don't know anything about them, I'm not sure if I should buy it. I tried to find reviews online, but found mixed reviews.

There's a satisfaction guarantee refund policy, but I don't want to bother with the refund, so I want to make sure it's a good buy before I purchase it.

Thanks!!

My highschool is going to preform this in March and auditions are coming up. I don't know much about this musical, or about the parts. If you have ever preformed in this show or really now about it, I would love your input. From what I've heard/seen on youtube, it looks totally stupid. Let me know whta you think about this musical?

My husband got some tickets from his work (before he lost his job there) and a bunch of us are going in January. I've never been to the Opera. What is the Phantom of the Opera about, and what should I wear?

I'm thirteen years old, and i've recently decided that I want to learn how to play the guitar. I've had a history in music, I've played the piano, and the flute.
So, I know it's going to take practice, but is it hard to learn?
(We've already found a teacher)

I'm thinking of buying an electric guitar, and start learning to play it, but I have no idea which kind to buy. I was wondering, what's the difference, especially in sound. Also, which one is better and which one do you recommend.

Thanks

i've used to play the guitar a few years ago, up to grade 3. i know how to play the actual chords, but when do you actually strike the chords, is it to a beat, or to the rhythm? do you play play it to the time signature, or it just when you want. and can you strike it with your thumb, or a pick...i'm so lost, when i should know this.

I've decided I want to try my hand at playing an Electric guitar after being inspired by a band I found. I researched around and found that the Fender® Stratocaster Electric Guitar is what I'm looking for. When I checked the price they were around 1,000-3,000 dollars. Where can I find a cheaper substitute that sounds the same? I would buy the guitar but it's a choice gift someone is offering me and they aren't going to pay that much though, maybe a couple hundred but never in the thousands.

I have heard many people compare it to a graduation, but a graduation is really just a ceremony to show a level of proficiency; an arangetram is an actual concert. I want to be able to share the significance of the event with a Western audience who know nothing about Carnatic Music nor its traditions.
