I have over 300 songs i have written,all genres..whats a good career direction for me?

I was thinking of trying to be a dj..but i have no patience for school..then a performer..but I have no band..what type of ways i can make money with my music..once i have it,on a cd..or demo?

Well, you could sell your songs to bands and Artists.
Just make sure you get your proper songwriting credits in order to get your royalties, etc. There are plenty of people looking for #1 hits. You just might be the guy they are looking for to give them that #1 hit. Who knows? Ask around at local rehearsal and recording studios. That's where the artist do the most work at. Also, pass out your flyers there too advertising your songs for sale.

Before you do anything at all. #1 rules first!!! Copyright all your songs on www.copyright.gov to protect your songs.
Print out the SR and PA forms and get your songs on a CD and/or CDs. Also, print and read the instructions carefully too. It costs about $45 and you will need either a SR or a PA form and a CON together because you have 300 songs written. You want to copyright all your songs in one shot to protect yourself.

Second, you then get registered with either ASCAP or BMI to register your songs. www.ascap.com and www.bmi.com.
they help you get paid for all your songs. They collect all the royalites for Artists/songwriters so they are for YOU...and
NOT AGAINST you. That's their job...

Also, set yourself up your publishing company too.
Ask ASCAP or BMI more about setting up your publishing company because they would know the easiest way to do it.
You need to do those 2 important things first before you sell your songs to anyone. That is for your own good as a Songwriter. You dont want to get ripped off. Good luck

The Beatles took a few turns of their profession however so much notably once they went from natural Pop to Psychedelic Fleetwood Mac went from a Blues founded band whilst Peter Green was once there to a natural Pop band When Stevie Nicks and Lyndsey Buckinham joined them. Genesis went from a wholly Progressive Band with Peter Gabriel to a Pop band whilst Phil Collins took the lead.

Try playing it on youtube and see what kind of feed back that you get....I found one of the best classical guitarist on youtube....everyone is trying to get him to make a Cd....he's fabulous !!!!!! His name is Peo Kindgren.....so if you want to be know there's no quicker way then to go on youtube....plus you get all kinds of feedback....and believe me these people will let you know what they think of your music !!! Musicians and composers are a dime a dozen....I'm sure that you realize that millions are out there trying to make it....so unless you have something very unique or very special it's a very hard road to get to the top....so try youtube and see what the people think...and who knows...there are agents who see this stuff....or someone who knows an agent and will say, hey you should hear this person....ya never know....go for it....the people will tell you the truth....and from here you can tell if you have that something special .....Good luck, I hope that you make it....You'll never know unless you try !!!!!!!!!!

ya you could do solo gigs, you might be able to do recordings on your pc with an adapter that takes a guitar cable and makes into a jack that should work on your mic port on your PC. Its not the best but hey. make a myspace. its like the best place to advertise for free. Also with a Myspace you might be able to find band members.

You could do solo gigs, smaller venues, resturants, coffee houses etc all prefer solo artists because it costs them less and is usually more laid back. And YOU get to keep all the money! AND you can sell your cd's to the audience.

you have to make your voice publicity from small area to big. hard worker gets everything rest are testless.
