Is the applause guitar a good guitar for beginners?

I assume you mean the Ovation Applause? Ovation make really good guitars - I use 2 for performing, and Applause is their budget range. The only possible problem is the bowl back, but if he/she is happy with that, it's a good choice. Hope this helps

any guitar is good for a beginner but i wouldn't spend to much because be might not like it. most people start on squier

that's how i learned and i went through a lot of methods, i would recommend it
