I just want some tips on how to not be so nervous and make my singing better. If you have anything else worth telling please tell.......Thankyou.

people have told me that i can sing, and on a couple of occasions in my senior year of high school, because i wanted people to remember me,after i graduated once for a play, and once for a school concert, and i had fun but now i don't want to sing unless i have to,my mom says it breaks her heart that i don't sing anymore,i tell her why sing if i don't have to,she says that i need it if i want to be actor, which i do,saying that it is a sin to not use your god - given talent ,she and my aunt say i have a soulful voice, whatever that means and one of my teachers wrote in my autograph book that he hopes that i attempt a singing career, that i can make it happen, people say that i would be cheating myself if i didn't. what do you think?

so during the summer of 2006, i used to goto the karaoke alot. i enjoyed it, it was a hobby. i was able to sing very high and very well. (ima guy btw.) and after summer, ive been busy and wasnt able to sing much. slowly ive notice myself not being able to sing as high and as well as i was able to in summer. and about 2 weeks ago i was sick and my voice was out. im all better now and ive managed myself to hit the karaoke again and i wasnt able to get close to going high. a friend of mine told me to yell really loud and i would be able to sound squeaky and high. well i honestly though it wasnt much of a good idea so i didnt try untill i got other people opinion. is this a good idea? how else can i retrieve my voice back?

I can tell that I play too stiffly but I'm very, very technically minded and not that emotional anyway. Not to mention I'm still playing pieces out of books with themed characters, so it's not like I have very emotional pieces anyway.

I don't know if this is really a question that can be answered. Saying, "Just get in to it" or something to that effect is completely useless. I know it gets you two points but please hold back.

Many will say clarinet, but I disagree.Clarinets squeak ALOT if you arent doing something right.Their not the safest thing either. If your playing the clarinet and someone comes by and hits your bell,I'd say it could easily knock some teeth out.Maybe not,but I know from experience,it HURTS!!!So what do you all think the easiest thing to play is?What about hardest?

I am a performer, more specifically a singer. I have recently been given the opportunity to perform overseas (I am in the United States). I have never traveled that far as a performer and I do not know what to charge. The night club will pay my airfare, cabfair to and from the club, and they will provide me two meals on the days the I work. I would work five days a week for eight weeks. I would do three 45 minute sets a night. They also have an apartment that performers stay in so they provide lodging. I am not a big name, but I do get a lot of standing ovations and accolades when I perform. Does anyone know what an appropriate price would be?
I was think about $250.00 a night or $750 a week.

I think my sore throat is on its way out, but just in case, is there any quick fix? My audition is in the evening, and it involves testing my range so I don't want to my range to be affected by a sore throat.

Is there any tea, cough drop, or anything else you would recommend?

Thank you!

In Feb 24, 2007,[on saturday]. My class for music choir is going to enter the county music fesivital. There is going to be thousands of kids from other schools and they're going to be competing against us.

We dont have to sing in front of all of them, but just four judges and my music teacher. This is a big deal to me and I cant choke on it and I have stage fright. I picked out a really good song to sing and I do have a feeling I'm going to choke in front of them.

They will be picking a winner from each school [my music choir has 40 kids]. Then after that, they will be going inot another round for the final battle. The prize is a scholraship and I really want it and a trophy.
